All talking about good for the game or not.
It would make rich richer and poor poorer.
Its definitely favoring the clubs in that competition as they form the new undisputed best league which mean all players would like to go to these clubs and these clubs also going to get more money which means more spending power.

The only question for me is what happens with the regular leagues?
I mean what happens with Serie A - Juve Inter Milan - Are they going to play there as well?
CL - I think its quite obvious CL will not be relevant anymore (its a good thing since we cant win it anyway..)

I don't know if this is good for the game or not. Maybe it will be, maybe it won't. I'll miss the mystique of having the top clubs in each league, but that probably won't be feasible considering the rhetoric from UEFA. Actually, the Super League probably won't destroy football, but UEFA and perhaps even FIFA could certainly destroy it if they refuse to work towards a compromise. Sort of like the suicide bombers on the airliner when the general didn't get his way in the film Executive Decision.

How is that any different than current situation. All players want to go to these clubs already.

The funny thing about all this is how the fans or EPL fans are rebelling, talk about greed it was the EPL that basically set the bench mark of greed with their absurd TV deals, the hikes in ticket prices and transfer records. All on top of the fact that they don't seem to realise that this is not a replacement of their domestic league format.

smaller teams, lower divisions, could effect national team development and make football less competitive but more lucrative at the top level

other than that it’s a pretty positive situation for the clubs involved
I suppose it may cause an inflation in transfer fees. If you want Locatelli, now you have to pay 60M. And in turn, Sassuolo will have to pay more to Serie B teams for their players.

That may actually encourage more youth development in small clubs rather than signing players from all over Europe.

The only good argument against this is I've heard is that smaller teams will suffer for it, which is a fair point
and its the smaller teams that are pleading and hoping that those clubs involved with the super league get kicked out, not realising that the smaller clubs will suffer more so with the lack of appeal in their league resulting to less tv revenue.

I say fuck em.

It just accelerates their impending complete doom. The process already began in the 90s.
Don't see why that would happen

The more revenue the top clubs earn the more transfer fees increase, no?

I suppose some CL regulars like Ajax and Atalanta will receive less from TV revenue. Player transfers will become a bigger part of the clubs' earnings.

Football has been governed by low IQ folk whose only skill was to kick a ball for too long, this is a time for the new age of sensible approach with competent people at top.
There needs to be a balance as well between business side of it and the spirit of the game. Football was never about money but as the world moved forward football adapted.

The gap between the elite clubs and the rest will definitely get larger though.

teams are more likely to become even bigger farmers at that point. It’s not like they aren’t already but there will be no way teams like Leicester, Napoli, Roma, etc win their leagues.

I personally prefer more parity but to each their own.

I still don't get the idea of having closed competition for chosen clubs (not even champions within the league). It's just such a stupid idea it's incredible.
It's only stupid if you're on the outside looking in. For those on the inside it's a collective insurance to never drop out and lose the revenue. Personally, I just lean back and watch this dead semen slurping sport burn for good.

The odds of that happening was already way too imo, but yeah it will be worse now.

I had the same question myself yesterday. Apparently the SL is only to replace CL for the participating clubs. Juve would still compete in Serie A.

That was until UEFA decided to make threats of expulsion/bans.

UEFA cannot truly afford either

that’s also true, the SL teams can’t buy from other SL teams could result in SL teams just buying up all the good you talent and stunting development

By the way, not sure if mentioned but hilarious how they pull this off with no fans in the stadium, so no high profile protests or anything. Super duper 4D Chess by the clubs and JPM, maybe this was the plan all along? ;)
