I had the same question myself yesterday. Apparently the SL is only to replace CL for the participating clubs. Juve would still compete in Serie A.

That was until UEFA decided to make threats of expulsion/bans.

UEFA cannot truly afford either
I guess, at first, until the league expands and then I could see the teams leaving their leagues altogether.

These English 'pundits' absolutely disgust me.

These are the same people who furiously jerk off to the likes of Chelsea and City week in week out. We are in this predicament because leagues like premier league ALLOWED state sponsored oil companies to bankroll their football clubs and absolutely inflate the market in turn creating a disparity between them and rest of Europe.

As I said, hypocrites.

these premheads sure like to pick and choose the use of their moral compass huh?
One Liverpool fan said today "What will happen with the derby (vs Everton) now?"

Just goes to show how clueless these clowns are, they don't even know what they're getting upset about.

The sooner people realise that on the assumption the leagues don't kick these teams out, nothing changes asides from the fact that the UEFA club competitions is effectively rivalled by the SL which is more attractive and lucrative.

Why would a competition with fewer good teams be more attractive?

I don't think this has anything to do with the Serie A or any other domestic association. The Super League is a mid-week tournament challenging the UCL, domestic leagues are pressed by UEFA to act like this new competition is actually damaging. TV revenues for domestic leagues are still in place, and in fact, the smaller teams could renegotiate to get more money out of the TV deal. The gap between the elite clubs and others will get bigger, yes, but that doesn't mean the smaller clubs are going bankrupt or even get hit financially, it's just a case where the big clubs will become richer.

The way I see it, and I could be wrong, Its a battle between the elite clubs and UEFA. League associations are threatened by UEFA to take a stand against it or otherwise risk getting no financial aid from UEFA and they have nothing to lose. Just oppose and see who wins at the end. Either way, 80-90% of their financial income is secured by TV rights for their domestic leagues not UEFA.
This does huge damage to the domestic leagues, it either results in us being kicked out of it or if we do compete in it we are earning 15x more money than the other teams in it. We would be able to rape and pillage every other teams talent in Italy and the league would become a mini tournament of Juve-Inter-AC, there would be significantly less interesting games to watch every year.

I am not against improving the CL - I am against the elitism and arrogance of this football club believing they are entitled to earn more than other clubs. Football is a game where losers lose and winners win. We could finish bottom of that SL season in season out and still be at a significant financial advantage to all another teams in Italy.

Fans that support this can only seem to make an argument based on finances. There are no sporting reasons to support this hideous tournament. All clubs involved deserve severe sanctions

We have won it 9 times in a row. Same with Bayern in Bundesliga. Lol that it’s competitive at the moment.

It's funny how none have an answer to this. It's been the same teams in every top 5 league that have been dominating the sport domestically and in Europe as well for that matter.
The damage was already done with oil money and with the inception of FFP. Absolutely no point raging over this now.

That's why I sort of want to see this happen. I want the Prem completely devastated.
