99% of fans will be watching super league if this goes ahead. Don’t kid yourself. But you go right ahead and be the 1% that boycotts over the moral outrage of it all. I’m sure it shall make you sleep better at night.
But I think too much of a big deal is being made over a fucking sport. Every sport is business and money driven now and there's sadly no going back. If you don't like it, just don't follow it and just move on and find something interesting to do.
For example I lost interest in WWE when they diluted the product to cater to a much wider demographic. No big deal.
You do realize there are fans who have supported clubs like Man U for generations in their family? You make it sound like it just changing a brand of underwear. Players are fans of the game too and have been in this for their whole lives, so if some of them are against something this drastic, they have legimate claim to voice it. Without being mocked for it, for the statement of "football is nothing without fans". I mean really? Thats what triggers a football "fan"?

I agree, but I’m just a bit cynical in believing that those calling everyone who supports this morons or idiots, and calling it a disgrace, are actually going to quit the sport. I have a feeling that if this actually goes through vast majority of them will be back watching and acting like they were never opposed as soon as it takes off.

"The board made it quite clear they are contemplating the most severe of sanctions against these six clubs because they have behaved in a way that self evidently damages the league as a whole and their 14 fellow shareholders - all I can see is that there was quite unanimous sadness, anger and disgust at the events of the last few days against every single one of these clubs."
He added that the clubs could "in theory" be expelled, but "no one wants to perform an act of self harm".
"What we need to find is a way to enable these two tournaments to thrive and they won’t be better off without those clubs," said Purslow
