Because Real, Barcelona, Juve, Milan and Inter have more dedicated life-long fans globally, than all of EPL minus MU, Pool, and Arsenal.
Barcelona? No way, they got most of their fans in the late 00's with Messi.

And you forgot Liverpool, they certainly have those life long supporters because of their history.

I still don't see the thing about Inter, not in the slightest.

The statement is due at 21:30 UK time from all clubs involved. Neville said they will be ammending that statement due to the amount of backlash this has received. It's hard to diasgree with him there.

No Barca has always been a global brand. Same as Inter.

Global brand - yes.

But most of their fans came when Messi turned into a superstar.

I don't think I've ever seen a club gain so many fans in such a short amount of time. Pep and Messi was the deciding factor in this.

Can they not play in the super league as well as their own domestic leagues and CL? Why do they have to split?
They need the permission from their leagues. The leagues won't allow it because the big clubs will earn more money creating an uneven playing field to all the teams not involved.

The very idea of a super league is to breakaway from the CL so that they can have more 'primetime' games and obviously more money. Both cannot co-exist.
Ofcourse they would want to continue playing in their respective leagues as well but UEFA cannot allow that as this breakaway is basically taking a dump on their primary club competition.

I don't know why and how would this make football better.

Super League would generate much more money. Leagues would get much less money from TV rights and sponsorships because less people would be interested in it.

Wait so the idea is to play Serie A AND Super League, but not Champions League?

That is what it seems like. The idea is to play more games in Europe and less games in the league. I don't know how they're going to manage that.

Or perhaps they'll have super league as the only competition like the NBA and nothing besides that.
