That is what it seems like. The idea is to play more games in Europe and less games in the league. I don't know how they're going to manage that.

Or perhaps they'll have super league as the only competition like the NBA and nothing besides that.
I thought certain big clubs would somehow "exit" their league and play in the Super League as the main competition. If that's the case I don't think that benefits the football because the gap between big clubs and lesser would become drastically higher.

Then again, if the idea is to play League and Super League, I don't think that happen because it would be way too many matches. I don't think why and how would they reason playing less matches in normal league.

Dunno, seems like a move from top clubs to earn more money without much logic behind it. If anything the level of would be would be even worse because lesser clubs would have much worse teams over the years imo.

The Football Leaks investigation claims 16 European clubs, including Juventus, Milan, Inter and Roma, have been negotiating to form a Super League.
This idea had been floated in the open before, but according to the trans-national investigation resulting from hacked emails obtained by Der Spiegel, there were and above all still are concrete steps taken to make it a reality.
The clubs allegedly involved on the ground floor in this Super League plot starting in January 2016 were Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Liverpool and Milan.
It is claimed they “went behind the backs of UEFA and other clubs to work on the option of leaving their national leagues and associations.”
There are even emails in the hacked Football Leaks information dump warning “we need to be very careful moving forward and avoid at all costs the perception of a cartel.”
That was eventually used as part of negotiations with UEFA for the bigger clubs to get a larger cut of revenue from the Champions League.
However, the Super League idea has not gone away, with claims an email was sent only days ago with a draft 13-page ‘binding term sheet’ of 11 European clubs.
The plan would be to effectively eliminate the Champions League by 2021.
Along with the 11 founding clubs, who would not be at risk of relegation and guaranteed a place in it for 20 years, another five clubs would be invited for a 16-team league.
The five ‘initial guests’ would be Inter and Roma from Serie A, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Olympique Marseille.
“The document even lists the ownership stakes held by the individual clubs in the joint European Super League company, with Real Madrid holding 18.77 percent, Barcelona 17.61 percent, Manchester United 12.58 percent and Bayern Munich 8.29 percent.
There is no mention of UEFA in the entire draft contract.”

I meant Inter had more fans worldwide than Bayern (IMO).

    Both are global brands.
    I see.

Like we talked about back then, I think it's nearly impossible to fully say who has more fans except for a small handful of clubs.

Those who's without a doubt got the biggest following worlwide: Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and maybe Liverpool as well.

    The others are more even.

If Bayern don't join all their good players will leave. Just like basketball players who leave Real Madrid and other teams to go to NBA.
    I think you're right.

And that's why I also expect us to join eventually if this super league proceeds.

Less money for weaker clubs means weaker leagues, clubs getting worse players, etc.

Football is turning into real life. It's becoming 1% of the super rich and 99% fighting to survive.

That's been the case for about 15 years, what this is doing is getting rid of parasites, bureaucrats and clubs who leech off the investments of bigger clubs.

Fighting to survive is a bit extreme. Many smaller clubs are owned by millionaires/billionaires too. It's just business at the end of the day.
We also have to understand that a lot of these 'smaller' clubs are beneficiaries of revenues generated by the big teams.
