I doubt it will happen anyway. The different football unions from Germany, Italy, England, Spain and France will deny them access to their national leagues - what are they then gonna do? Play each other 40 times a year?
What are those leagues gonna do without them?

Let's say they add 4-6 more teams to the current 12. Play each other 3-4 times a year, then have the playoffs - first to 3 wins advances.

I really think UEFA will have the final say in this. Especially since they're backed up from pretty much all the other clubs from those leagues.

Not to forget the players will be kicked out of their national teams.
Wait till the politicians get involved. I wonder who is gonna be the martyr to announce that Seria A banned Juve inter and Milan from the competition and still expect to be voted for office.

Wait so no team can get relegated?

What's the incentive for players to stop trying once they're 20 or so points off the title race, no Euro spots to play for and can won't be in a relegation battle?

But you dint answer my question. You might not care but the Americans have successfully created a product which is popular worldwide. Basketball as a sport has become popular because of the NBA who have successfully managed to cater to a much larger audience and a wider demographic. All this while being a closed competition.

The super league clubs are trying to replicate exactly that.
Basketball is not popular because it is a closed league, there is no connection there. Its popular because its well managed as a media product to be popular.

The PL and the CL aren't closed leagues yet they are increasingly popular with globalization. The people managing the distribution of the PL clearly know what they are doing and they made a league that creates a larger gap to other countries.

A closed competition is shit, and its not necessary to increase football's popularity.

It's exactly like that. I've watched almost every Juve match for the last 20 years, I can't just "stop watching" or supporting them completely. But I can wholeheartedly disagree with the decision and try my best to combat it by voicing my opinion.

But again, who is watching those competitions without these clubs?

Let's say UEFA and FAs threaten expulsion from domestic leagues and UCL and then these 12 clubs take their bluff - who is watching and sponsoring the remaining skeleton of those competitions over the biggest clubs and superstars?

I don't necessarily think this will go through, but I also don't think these threats by UEFA have any real bearing. They will come to a compromise IMO, but I don't think UEFA has the upper hand here.

I'm really really up for this and happy it's happening. The only reason UEFA and FIFA is threatening is because they're losing money, they don't care about anything else. Yes I'd rather see Juve play vs City, United, than Crotone benevento and shit like that.

Take Calciopoli as an example. Serie A survived, but it became a much worse product compared to before.

That's what I imagine will happen with those leagues.

Maybe rich folks will find new clubs to use as toys.

Or maybe those clubs left in those leagues will get back to the roots of what football is about.

Yes I'm just dreaming here about the last thing.

This is a sport that's already popular worldwide though, what would really change with this?
True but my argument was to merely illustrate how successful the NBA product is without having a large base like football does.

Btw I am not exactly supporting this move but we all know it's purely money motivated at the end of the day.

Its not even about the playeds those clubs have. Most football fans support one of those 12 clubs. Thats their main leverage, not their players, who come and go anyway.
