Once SL starts no one will give a shit about any other competition and PSG and Bayern will be begging to join.
Wouldn't be so sure about that.

When the big clubs gets to play each other all the time then it will become boring is my prediction.

The thing that makes the CL so interesting is the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool, United, PSG, City and so on only meet each other here and then. If these clubs meet each other once a week or (or even once a month), then it will quickly become super boring.

In the CL you never know who you're gonna play and when.

While we have the Superleague, enjoy having only PSG as competition in Europe

NBA isn't boring.

I don't think UEFA and FAs of top5 leagues have a leg to stand on. Nobody is going to watch those competitions without the 8-10 best clubs.

If this ESL is going to replace UCL then it's meh for me. But if it's going to become NBA of football, ideally replicating their season and playoff formats that'd be the best thing ever.

Yes but in terms of prestige, revenue and importance, its several levels above any competition

NBA and NFL teams play each other like 8-10 times in a season(?)
If it was super boring, then how come those leagues are the richest leagues in the world with incredible viewership?
You can call it boring now but its exactly what these big clubs want. And people will subscribe to this no matter what. They know it very well.

Yet you will watch it, just like everyone else.
I'm a lifelong fan of Juve, it's a conflicting situation. It's like if your country invaded another one by illegal means: I can't just accept the situation as it is, but I really can't stop being a citizen either.

No doubt.

Not sure about the prestige, to me that comes with time. But I see your point.

I really couldn't care less about handegg or basket.

They have different stories and can't be compared to football as a sport.

But you dint answer my question. You might not care but the Americans have successfully created a product which is popular worldwide. Basketball as a sport has become popular because of the NBA who have successfully managed to cater to a much larger audience and a wider demographic. All this while being a closed competition.

The super league clubs are trying to replicate exactly that.

May they fuck off

[RMC] Emmanuel Macron welcomes the position of French clubs to refuse to participate in a European soccer super league project, threatening the principle of solidarity and sporting merit. The French State will support all the steps taken by the LFP, the FFF, UEFA and FIFA.

Btw I didn't mean Bayern or PSG wouldn't beg to join an eventual Super League if they don't join at the start. I'm pretty sure they would so they wouldn't miss out on the money.

My point was more how I'd see it from a fan perspective. For me it wouldn't be the same to meet the other big clubs so often, the special thing is you only play the big boys rarely. To meet them all the time would for me just not be the same.

What question? You're just giving your own opinion, I'm giving mine.

How often ? As a league the teams would meet a maximum of 4 times if they have a play out . If not only 2 times away and home, durnig the season.

I doubt it will happen anyway. The different football unions from Germany, Italy, England, Spain and France will deny them access to their national leagues - what are they then gonna do? Play each other 40 times a year?

Not to forget the players will be kicked out of their national teams.

Wait? This shit is starting now ? :weee:

[Sky Sports Premier League] Gary Neville on European Super League - "I can't focus on the game. They should deduct points from all the six teams that have signed up to it. Deduct points off all of them. To do it during a season? It's a joke."

This is a sport that's already popular worldwide though, what would really change with this?
