Juve in Boumsong U-turn?
Friday 25 January, 2008

Juventus defender Jean-Alain Boumsong may be prevented from joining Lyon due to the Old Lady’s injury crisis.

The French international had all but agreed a move to the Ligue 1 champions, but now the Bianconeri are having second thoughts about letting him go.

Boumsong scored a vital equaliser in the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Inter on Wednesday after being called on to make a rare appearance and his contribution may have brought about a surprising U-turn.

“The Boumsong deal has hit a hitch, but I hope that it’s just a transitional phase,” Lyon director Marino Faccioli told L’Equipe. “For now there is nothing we can do.

“We had an agreement with Juve and the player, but this evening the Turin club have told us that they are reconsidering because they have suspensions and injuries.

“Now the whole deal is in jeopardy and the situation seems a little cruel.

“Boumsong was very professional and played for Juve on Wednesday and now they have thanked him by shutting the door.”

The transfer had been scheduled for completion today, but representatives from the two sides are expected to meet over the weekend to discuss the new situation.

I think the board should not have sold him to Lyon in the first place.
Chiellini and Andrade will be back in only 2 monts (maybe less), and who we have in our defence?
Grygera and Zebina are not sweepers (they play better on the sides), there is only Legro. 1 sweeper (and it's not Cannavaro) is not enough even for a team trying to avoid relegation.

Cameroon: Footballer Donates Tennis Shoes

Cameroonian-born footballer, Jean Alain Boumsong Somkong, who plays for Juventus of Turin in Italy, recently donated 3000 pairs of tennis shoes to some underprivileged people in Yaounde, Douala and Limbe.

Boumsong came under the canopy of his NGO called ADNA that had been offered the gift by Salomon, a shoe-manufacturing firm.

In Douala, six associations benefited from the gesture - Main dans la Main (Home for Abandoned Children) at Bonamoussadi, Foyer St. Nicoline (Home for Street Children), Handisport (a sports association of handicapped persons), MUPAC (an association of aged persons), as well as AJERCAM and Femme Sante Environment.

The handing over ceremony of the gifts took place at the headquarters of Pari Mutuelle Urbain Camerounais, PMUC, a partner in the humanitarian activities of ADNA. PMUC was represented by its General Manager, Jean Dominique Casamarta. Speaking at the ceremony, Boumsong said any gift offered by ADNA is love.

My god this is so embarrassing. First question, why on earth do Lyon want Boumsong anyway? But aside from that, step aside Secco...hell even I could be on management if this is the standard.

Our board has been really clueless this month. They are lost in space. Don´t know what the hell are they doing. Instead of strenghtening the squad, they behave like a bunch of Football Manager amateurs. No wonder the squad is not performing as they minds cannot be clear and focused as there is a big question mark infront of Juventus future with these clowns.
