It's not JUST the formation. It's also the way we approach the game. Look how very few long passes Real Madrid and Bayern play. They build up the play with numerous runs from all the players and hard passes in the feet. Sort of what Alex Ferguson had ManU do back ~2008. And then they wide the pitch by having 3-4 players luring the offside trap, forcing any defense to hold back just as many or more players.
We have 2 players up front and then pass them the ball and expect them to pass it backward or turn(which at this level, CL, is very much to ask). I say we change both formation and mentality. GTFO with "we're used to playing this way and why throw away 4 years of hard work that won us silverware". Yes, Serie A silverware. This strategy hasn't won us any glory what so ever outside Italy. Ending top 4 in CL is better then winning Serie A for the 4th time in a row!
