What do you think would be best to use against Atletico, the 3-5-2 or the 4-3-1-2? Even though we created nothing there we still contained them pretty well aside from their goal from nowhere. That game scares me, I just really can't imagine anything other than a loss.

I cant see us win against them if we revert back to 3 CBs. We are just so vulnerable and predictable and easy to stop. 4-3-something is the way to go. I really don't mind seeing the same line up against the greeks. We really should have scored at least 5 or 6 goals if our finishing was there.

Lichtsteiner told Gazzetta dello Sport:

“We play more with the ball,” said the 30-year-old.”It is easier because I have the game in front of me.
“For the defenders I think three or four is not a problem, we are so strong at the back that our form is no different. “We had good games with 3-5-2, sometimes we were a bit unlucky, but we almost always created many chances. But in terms of possession is so much easier to play as a four.”

What do you think about 'new' Juve? @Zacheryah

Even during the summer I told ya 4-3-1-2 is the way to go.
Yes and i was sort of in agreement if the trequartista could coöperate with tevez.

I like how it enables several players to play out their best characteristics, whilst we run the same distances, yet appear alot more aggressive.

Can't say I've been terribly impressed with Juve's move to 4-3-1-2.

There are continuing problems with balance that haven't been addressed.

Far too often Juve are getting themselves caught in situations where the fullbacks and the midfielders on the sides of the diamond are too high up and there is only the two centre-halves and Pirlo covering.

The midfielders on the sides are the main issue. They get too wide, too high up and generally leave things too open. Pogba seems to be spending more time with the ball on the touchline than he does in areas where he can actually hurt teams and influence the game.

Only Pereyra has made anything resembling a decent effort at playing trequartista.

In fact, about the only thing that has functioned well since the move to 4-3-1-2 has been the part of the team that was absolutely certain to fail, or so I was led to believe - the central defenders.

Juve need to get a trequartista and they need - at any give time - to have one of the midfielders staying deep and close to Pirlo.

But it many situations you see Marchisio stay really deep with Pirlo.

I don't like either system.

I think Juve probably had a better balance when they were playing 3-5-2.

If they were to play Marchisio instead of Pirlo and sign themselve a genuine, good trequartista, 4-3-1-2 would seem a more logical system.

The problems are certainly less apparent when Marchisio is playing.

It's when Vidal and Pogba are playing with Pirlo that Juve look stretched a lot of the time.

maybe its the lack of a trequatista and lack of quality on the flanks that is forcing Vidal and Pogba (mainly Pogba) to play up high and more wide? could be a plan from Allegri to make us more dangerous from the sides when in possession. if we had a real trequatista who can make decisive passes to our forwards and fullbacks i think we would see less of such actions from the midfielders. and yes, Marchisio is doing an excellent job at providing cover for Pirlo and the other CM

Quite possibly.

That being the case, though, I'd be inclined to try and use Pereyra to offer a little width high up on one side so that at least one of the midfielders didn't feel the need to push forward so much. That'd also make it easier for him to find space rather being in the crowded centre where it's harder for him to use his pace.

Wouldn't try to get Tevez to change his role particularly.

I'd just play a slightly lop-sided formation.
