I like how you don't have Yildiz in there because he will be sold. Good formation even if it breaks the rules of the game.

Now we've had a few wins in a row with a fair bit of rotation I'm interested what people think is our strongest starting 11? For me it's

Greggs
Weah Gatti Veiga Cambi
Thuram Locatelli
Connie McKennie Yildiz
Kolo
Obviously Bremer in there for Gatti when he's back.

G Neville making a great point about modern possession football seeing too many defenders on the ball.

Imo the natural evolution of this is going to be the pooularisation of the revista. What Motta had Locatelli doing: dropping deep and filling in as a CB to allow the wing backs to push up is going to be more and more common. It'll be diagonal passes straight to wingers and forwards to cut out the CMs and create chances.

In our case it didn't do much because our general shape was awful but I do think this is what will happen. Registe, wingers and target men CFs will all come back in a big way in the next few years.

We really need to restore Juve’s grinta. The current squad has lack of fluidity in attack and the tactic is more on quick transitions rather than possession play.

Savona(Cabal), Bremer(Rugani and Rouhi), Kalulu(Costa and Gatti), Cambiaso(Turicchia)

Midfield trio McKennie(Koopmeiners), Locatelli(Pugno), Thuram(Luiz)

Nico(Weah) , Muani, Yıldız(Mbangula)

5 defenders is too many and it works when you have sick wingbacks, not these turds. Remove Gatti and send Cambiaso and Joao Mario to a back 4 with Locatelli as DM. We have some flexibility to maintain counter attacks or some threat if we get overrun. If its a 4-3-3, Conceicao moves to a flat 4 and Yildiz comes deep. That's still a dangerous team on the counter.

Those two games against City and Madrid exposed our shitty team and formation. Alonso took 45 minutes to flip the whole game that saw us totally dominated. All he did was double up on Yildiz. Pep simply targeted Kelly and Haaland stretched the two CBs. Game over and we never had a chance in either game once they made these minor tweaks. That's how pathetic we are in this formation.

Cambiaso and Joao Mario could be very attacking in the right approach. It's not about a formation on a piece of paper but how the coach utilises players. If he has them sat back it's 5 defenders, if he has them pushing forward they are midfielders or wingers.

But when we sit back in a flat 5, the rest of the team is narrow because the space in front of them is empty. Getting Conceicao and Yildiz to come back to that empty space and then try and counter is too demanding. If we're in a defensive 4 with a midfield 4 in front, you have players closer so you can play out from the turnover and break together in a block. If it's scrappy, the midfield can hold the ball and the wingers or wingbacks can push ahead on the overlap without worrying about empty spaces behind.
