Imo the natural evolution of this is going to be the pooularisation of the revista. What Motta had Locatelli doing: dropping deep and filling in as a CB to allow the wing backs to push up is going to be more and more common. It'll be diagonal passes straight to wingers and forwards to cut out the CMs and create chances.
In our case it didn't do much because our general shape was awful but I do think this is what will happen. Registe, wingers and target men CFs will all come back in a big way in the next few years.
