At this point it's pretty clear that it's not only the midfield that is the problem, defense is not up to it as well. This is due to our form but there's also our lack of incisiveness and bite in attack, we're not making the most out of it. Hopefully that changes.

Absolutely.
People like to bash Bonucci, rightfully at times, but Chiello made that error resulting in that Costa chance. Also, he's 34, and injury prone. The alternatives (Caceres, Rugani and Barzagli) are not good enough for a CL push.
Not much better than our midfield isn't it?

Wow, it was enough to break you, losing 2:0 to Atletico. That's why that come back would be so sweet. All the pussies accepting they're just pussies.

You have no right to insult him. It's not the 2-0 loss per se, but the manner of the loss. We looked clueless, disjointed and toothless. It's not the first time we've played like absolute shit; in fact, I struggle to remember the last time we played anything resembling decent football. Had we lost 2-0 by missing tons of chances and being generally unlucky, I'd have been more optimistic. It just seems that Allegri has lost it. We lost 2-0 (could've been more) playing some abysmal football with close to ZERO attacking presence in the final third. The issue is not whether we can breach ATM or whether they concede goals, because we can breach them and they do concede, but that we're not going to do it playing the way we have been recently, not even if we play a game that lasts from March 12th to May 5th.

...Marcelo for 40 million and a 7-8 million salary, I can stomach.
that's too expensive too. he really regressed for this season, and given the general lolzillian over 30 track record, i have doubts that he'd be helpful.

i'd really stop getting former star players in their 30's. look at higuain and imagine how we could use him now - and imagine how useful marcelo would be 2 years from now. i'd definitely pass on marcelo, even on a free deal with a 5-6m yearly wage (plus the obligatory astronomic agent fee).

inb4 cr7 is 34: yes, he's unique.

You're satisfied with the way the season has gone overall to this point? You're satisfied with the state of our midfield at this point?

Either way, feel free to suck my dick.
I am only dissatisfied with the Atletico game. Other than that what's there to be dissatisfied with? 13 pts advantage in the league? Finishing the group on 1st place? Well, maybe the coppa exit but no one cares about it.

"Our midfield" lol. There are no perfect teams. I don't care that most of you noobs evaluate football basing on how a given setup of players would do in FIFA 19. Have you seen a huge difference between our midfield and Atleticos? I haven't and they have the glorified Sauls, Kokes etc. Their only source of creativity was Griezmann.

Juventus is second to no team in the world. What you wrote shows your absolute lack of balls and you talking about sucking your dick is silly. If anything, all you can count for is being the receiving side with such a mentality.

It's been well established that winning the league is currently not exactly the most difficult thing to do. Yes, I'm grateful that we keep winning it, but as mentioned there comes a point where we need to be expecting more. The overall level of play in many of our games has been below par (midfield that you love so much can't string together 3 passes or can't get the ball forward, defenders look shaky at times, forwards look disjointed, etc). I care about the Coppa exit, I don't see why you wouldn't. it's still a major trophy that we should be challenging for every single year, even with our B team we can win that. And like I said, when you consider the manner in which we went out of it, yeah it's a bit concerning.

No shit, I never claimed there where. However the scale doesn't go immediately from "perfect" to "shit." But you don't seem like the kind of person that looks at the nuance of situations based on you points so I should expect that.

I think you should re-evaluate your life if your sense of manhood comes from what you write on an internet forum.

We've been playing a little bit below expectations but this is Juve we are talking about. As Chellini said, we're not a team that is going to be winning 4:0, 5:0 week in, week out. Some may complain about that but opposed to teams like Barca, City or Real, we never lose to minnows whereas they do. Every medal has two sides.

We have also played some good games this season, like the ones against United, Napoli, Valencia away. Namely, those games that we were motivated for. And I think this is the key. I hope we will play according to our strengths on 3/12. There's a saying that men should be evaluated only by how they finish, not how they started. Therefore I think it is ridiculous to turn your back to the team when we're not dead yet. As a supporter the only way you can help the team is by showing your support and belief.

Look at this post, so much better. More of these and less of the first.

I'm totally fine not winning by 4 or 5, that never concerned me. I've always loved the fact that we traditionally have a rock solid defense and a great midfield. Hence why I'm a bit uncomfortable with this season. In my eyes, we just don't look as solid as we used to in terms of chances and goals we concede.

Absolutely we have, that first half against United was fun as hell to watch. Seeing us completely shut down Valencia was fantastic as well, and we did it with 10 men. Even the fight we showed to come back against Chievo in the first game, who could not enjoy that? I 100% believe that we can come back against Atletico, I'm not writing us out at all. Like I said before, the way we came back against Madrid last year really shows what this team is capable of. Allegri usually reacts well to these types of situations. If Dortmund can score 4 against them, Ronaldo and Dybala sure as hell can.

BUT, now can you imagine if we had someone in midfield to bring the ball forward and perhaps another more adept at providing help to the defense to take pressure off? Can you imagine?? Only way it's going to come about is SUMMER MERCATO 2019 BABY :tuttosport:

Don't forget zaniolo and possibly barella

Szczesny

Cancelo De Ligt Chiellini Marcelo

Ramsey Barella Zaniolo

Chiesa Dybala Ronaldo

Nothing better than this year imo.

Getting rid of starting Bonucci would be an important improvement, but still not enough, we need a top class midfielder.

Bringing Marcelo might be better than we think if we get him cheaper. He still has 2-3 great seasons in him. Plus he can teach Alex Sandro a thing or two so he can improve a bit and stop acting bipolar.
