Matuidi needs to go in the summer, along with Khedira.

A 32 year old with very limited football abilities who relies entirely on his athleticism and stamina. Our possession game suffers majorly with him in the team.

We need footballers, not athletes.

Dude who in their right mind would let 2 of our most experienced players go in the same summer? You think Matuidi sucks because he has to do things Bentancur should do.Do you notice how when khedura isnt playing the opposing teams let Matuidy carry the ball? Its no coinidence ,they let him do that because its not the thing he is supposed to do.We have a weakness in mid and now every team exploits it.Praying Khedira comes back right now.

Because they aren’t good enough.

Matuidi needs 5 touches to control a football. I have a better touch and pass than Matuidi. Not because I’m good at football, but because he’s simply awful.

There are a lot of players out there who can play the same role Matuidi does and are far better with the ball at their feet.

- Casemiro
- Fernandinho
- Javi Martinez
- Thomas Partey
- Fabinho
- N’Golo Kante
- Torreira
- Ascacibar

Would it be worth it trying to nab Jorginho from Chelsea? He’s struggling over there under Sarri and he’s already proven and accustomed to serie A. We already play a system that accommodates a regista and he might fit Juve far better than he fits at Chelsea. He might possibly even come relatively cheap considering he hasn’t exactly lit up the league over there. It would then maybe push Pjanic further up the pitch where he can specialise more in other facets.

A midfield of:

Ramsey - - Jorginho - -Pjanic

Is better than the best we could field at the moment with all players being technically sound/ forward moving (Ramsey).

In terms of price, it could be the cheapest upgrade but Chelsea would never sell; particularly since they have an impending transfer ban.

Pjanic is world class. No question about that.
Pjanic is great but he isn’t World Class imo. World Class means he can walk into any top team in Europe and is between top 5-8 in his position which he simply can’t and isn’t. He is in the bracket just below World Class but he’s been way off it this season.

pretty sure that midfield would get annihilated, no one there can defend that well, Pjanic and Jorginho in the same midfield doesn't exactly fill me with confidence

I actually rate Jorginho, but he is not the midfielder we need right now, we need a prime Vidal-esque midfielder as opposed to another regista, SMS, that bloke that plays in France, are what we need right now

I honestly don’t rate SMS as highly as other posters on here do.

I have two gripes with him:

1. He is slow, like Khedira level slow. He would be so much better if he was just a little quicker.

2. He gets dispossessed too easily. He doesn’t know how to use his size to shield the ball like Pogba or Mousa Dembele

SMS would obviously improve our current midfield, but I’d rather have Ndombele over him. Ndombele is quicker than SMS, is better at shielding the ball under pressure, and just as good at passing.

I remember SMS differently in terms of shielding the ball... as for slow yes he is but I guess no one is perfect..
Ndombele would certainly be a great purchase but him alone - I dont know.. I feel we need something more..
Ramsey Ndombele Pjanic - Not bad but we can still vastly improve..

Ndombele Pogba Eriksen - If only we could make this kind of mid...

I feel like Jorginho and Pjanic are too similar. Jorginho is basically just a poor man’s Pjanic.

I’d rather have Allan tbh.
I always thought Jorginho is overrated
Allan - Now we are talking - IMO he is the main reason why Napoli are the team that leads the 2nd place race! Their best player by a mile! (ok add Koulibaly as well)

At this point, I can't wait for this season to be over so we can get to the mercato. I know I said this same thing last season, but maybe we'll get a good midfield this time.
I feel you.. Even if our season has yet to end and we are still in the CL it feels like where is summer already with a new coach and new midfield.
