Van De Beek sounds like Sarri kinda signing
Maybe we will get Allan

Romero is coming anyway so if anything its Manolas Demiral and Romero.. I rather avoid spending too much on defenders who will just keep the level of our defense the same.. If theree is a chance of improving our defense I`d welcome it but just to maintain the same level?! Hard pass..

Very talented player although I havent seen much of him (only CL)
Haven't seen much of him to judge, but people on this forum don't seem to rate him.

It will be two defenders one has to be experienced can't rely on Rugani as the third choice cb

Manolas is indeed currently better and cheaper but Romagnoli can surpass him easily..
I think we should skip on both as we have Romero&Demiral coming.. Unless its De Ligt or Koulibaly I think I rather pass

Free or money involved?
i think he will be free. all media reported that bayern told him find new team!

Gonzalo Higuain has already made it clear to his entourage that if the call of Juventus arrives for a return to Turin, the answer would be positive. He's convinced he can play with Cristiano at important levels: the situation is now in the hands of Paratici. [Corriere Torino]

Stats mean very little without context to comparison. There is no point comparing Romagnoli to Van Dijk who plays in a far superior team in a different league.

Some Manolas stats (whoscored):
Tackles per game - 1.2
Intereptions pg - 1.4
Clearances pg - 2
Dribbled past pg - 0.3
Passes pg - 38.4
Pass % - 88.6

Musacchio:
Tackles per game - 1.4
Intereptions pg - 1
Clearances pg - 3.8
Dribbled past pg - 0.3
Passes pg - 60
Pass % - 90

Romagnoli (same source):
Tackles per game - 1.1
Intereptions pg - 1.2
Clearances pg - 5.2
Dribbled past pg - 0.1
Passes pg - 55.2
Pass % - 91.2

But stats don't factor in Milan play far more closed football and offer more protection to their centre backs than e.g. Roma.

I seriously dont see anything wrong with a sub like Rugani - as a first choice yeah he isnt good enough but he is clearly talented enough for the bench...
Anyway we get Romero and Demiral and if we get another one let it be a WC CB as Chiellini is already 100 years old and Bonucci is old and not that great as well - I think a great (not old) type of defender is a must now -

Compare to Chiellini pls. Romagnoli would be his eventual replacement, so it makes more sense like that.

Football is a collective work. The whole team need to function, not just 1-2 particular player.

Nope Romagnoli is a Left footed CB who is strong marker, he will be defacto Chiellini heir if he comes. Its unusual for two left footed CBs to play together lol.

He is nothing to remotely close to Chiellini

I don't know why people say that.

If we are looking at a Chiellini heir in specific, we should be looking at an athletic, aggressive , physical CB like Skriniar or Koulibaly

Romagnoli possesses none of the above traits.

I'm talking about him being left footed lol.

And he isnt a physically imposing type of CB, but he is definitely a fantastic individual defender and good technique.

But our back 4 is in dire need of a physically imposing, athletic CB to replace Chiellini.

Romagnoli would be the type of guy who would complement a physically imposing CB

I'm not sure I'd be happy seeing a Bonucci-Romagnoli CB partnership for the future tbh.

Realistically I don't see Bonucci being benched for another couple of years atleast.

Juventus have joined Inter in the race to sign Bayern defender Jérôme Boateng (30), The German Champions would not like to keep him, His contract expires in June 2021 & He could leave Munich in the summer. (@SkySportDE)

Comparing the stats of a Juve defender to AC is almost meaningless given that we do far less defending and when we do it is largely on the break and our centre backs are more exposed. Rugani also plays against weaker teams than Chiellini (but often alongside weaker players when we rotate more). But here you go:

Chiellini
Tackles per game - 1.3
Intereptions pg - 1.7
Clearances pg - 6
Dribbled past pg - 0.5
Passes pg - 64.8
Pass % - 89.5

Rugani
Tackles per game - 0.5
Intereptions pg - 1.1
Clearances pg - 3.4
Dribbled past pg - 0.5
Passes pg - 51.5
Pass % - 90

https://www.whoscored.com/Players/116207/Show/Daniele-Rugani. has the stats, you can search whatever player you want.

:agree:

Exactly, which can take away the value of stats. The best way to judge a player is watch them.

Juventus short news:
Cuadrado may go back to Fiorentina again.
Juventus negotiated with two Real Madrid players that were in Zidan exit list
Higuain manager & Paratici will meet each other in the next 10 days.
Icardi is still uncertain for the next season, and Juventus is following his situation.

:yuck: :inter:

Fatso, The neanderthal chain smoking cumstain, Van Den Beek and some obscure defender all make for an incredibly underwhelming Mercato. There's no way Ronaldo would agree to this shit.
