I voted -2, which is a 4 on a normal 1-10 scale.

No urgency from management to improve the team despite our standing last season. In fact, I think our squad is worse overall. We have no muscle in midfield. We still have Bentancur and Rabiot as starters! Szczęsny is still our keeper! How is Ramsay a Juve player?! Offside choking Morata is now our starting striker!

Fuck this shit.

4/10

I'm very generous in giving 4 because we hired a good coach but sold a player who guaranteed you 25 goals a season in the last days of the mercato without an adequate replacement.

Decent acquisition with Locatelli but a terrible selling mercato overall.
Taking into account what was already in the squad is what makes it worse. The mercato in itself wouldn't have been a problem if we didn't have a squad full of weaklings.

Rating 4
I gave it a 4 - I honestly can't go higher than that. Our midfield slightly improved, but it couldn't have gotten worse, seeing how pathetic it already was. Goalkeeping, defense and attacking departments all downgraded, in the case of our attack severely.
Countdown from 10:

10 - No U23 plusvalenza
9 - Berna still here
8 - Ramsey still here
7 - Rabiot still here
6 - Bentancur still here
5 - Demiral early Christmas gift to Atalanta
4 - De Sciglio back
3 - Fake primavera speranza
2 - No Ronaldo backup plan
1 - Rugani

Start building again

1 - Loca
2 - Kean
3 - Max
4 - Kaio

A cold 4 from my side. Underwhelming!
4/10, and that's because I like Allegri and Locatelli and don't hate Kean.
There is a margin of +-2/10 depending on how we will play.
I went for a 4.
I understand we had to sell before we buy and have a lot of overpaid players on our roster. The Ronaldo situation didn’t help. And I’m glad we didn’t panic buy on shit. I would be happier if the club had kept some younger players. Rovella, Fagioli, or Ranocchia would have been good to see.
:dule:

Team 4 is dope.

0 mercato for me

lb wasn't improved
midfield wasn't improved
attack got WORSE

conte would have been better choice as coach than allegri in this case. he is better motivator and would have whipped these turds into shape. at least for a season.
Its Conte surely he burnt all his bridges with Juve when he left.

Ok this will be my last post in this thread.

Ribéry.
Tbh not a bad idea for a 1 year contract since we don't have a single natural LW in the squad until next summer at least. Still has a lot of talent despite his age and if his option is going to Verona, then his wage demands are gonna be low.

He would totally destroy the clubs handsomeness average though so it's probably not worth it.

Positives
  • We addressed our uninspiring midfield with Locatelli
  • Our mercato involve young players Locatelli, Kaio Jorge, Kean, Ihattaren
  • We offload CR7 so we don't lose him for free and free those gigantic wages
Negatives
  • We don't get adequate replacement for CR7, before him we have Higuain, before Higuain we have Tevez. Now we have Morata and that is not enough
  • We got Kean and Kaio Jorge as backup CF, but we don't address the left wing area
  • Chiesa can play on the left wing, but he best play on the right wing. but most of our other wingers is right winger too
  • We must sell/loan out/offload/kick Berna's ass and buy a pure left winger
  • Missed out on Depay/Calhanoglu for free transfer, at least they can give balance to this squad, both not really that old and has a reasonable wages). Depay currently in the bring of getting 5m per year because of salary cap(30%cut from initial 7m/year include bonuses), Calha is around 5m include bonuses
  • Failed to offload at least 1 midfielder after Locatelli arrival, we should actually offload 2 the least midfielders after Locatelli arrival and the another one for Fagioli spot (especially if we really focuses in 4-2-3-1)
  • Inability to get young center back talents and offload Rugani. If we get player like Matteo Lovato for CB backup and offload Rugani then Demiral transfer will make a beautiful sense
  • So as a conclusion for me this is a really unbalanced squad. We don't have a fixed system to be guideline for building a sensible depths in every positions. We have 3 GK, 4CB, 2LB, 3RB, 6CM,3RW, 0LW, 1SS, 3CF.
  • GK depths is ok while quality arguably isn't, missed out on Donnaruma is regrettable
  • 4 CB is ok in depth as we have another side back that can provide the 5th CB in Danilo. The only weak link is Rugani, and I prefer Dragusin as 5th CB than Rugani
  • Our wing back is screaming the need the refreshment for years
  • 6 CM is too much if we go for 4-2-3-1 but if we playing 4-3-3 it means no spot for Dybala. So maybe we will alternate between 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 during the seasons or maybe during the match if needed. But with both formation, lack of player in LW can't be hidden
Neutral
  • As much as I want to keep Fagioli at home, but to think he will get a very minimum game time with us, his loan will guarantee him a starting spot every matchday. And he will be with Fabio Pecchia who already know him during his tenure here as U23 manager. This will be negative view if he does not get at least 25 matches if he is injury free
  • We get players on reasonable wages something that lost in Tici's era where the wages is outrageous. This is goes to more right direction but still to early to judge

first of all you don't decide on club's handsomeness. i do. me. sit down.

second of all yes i agree that ribery is fine. we can ignore his ugliness because the alternative is camera zooming in of allegri's ugly face everytime bentancur and berna fuck up passes.

I'm probably a bit generous, as we haven't really improved any area besides the midfield. (I don't think we're a weaker team, either.)

But it does feel like we've turned the corner. Correcting all the mistakes from the past 3 years will obviously take some time & money, so it's not going to happen overnight. You'd be a fool to think otherwise.

I don't have any issues with the outgoing transfers. All are fine with me.
In terms of incoming, Locatelli should prove to be an excellent signing. Kean is a questionmark however.

I definitely would have liked additional improvements in midfield. And the GK situation is fairly urgent for me as well. But the situation is what it is. We're paying far too much money for players who add virtually nothing to the team. But them still being here limits our possibilities. It doesn't get any simpler than that imo.

Come to think of it, I think my vote is mostly based on the idea that we didn't fuck up this time. Not so much the deals we did make, but rather the fact that we didn't do any dumb shit for a change.
For me, that's enough for the time being.

two players that were on the market that would have lifted this squad. an energetic midfield enforcer and a creattive advanced midfielder. isn't this exactly what this squad needed?

I think if Serie A want to become a bigger league, they need to abolish the non EU quota rules, instead they put a strict work permit regulation as the limitation for the transfer
