People will still buy gun...crime lords will buy in bulk from abroad and sell to the highest bidders here.

Same reason drug users with no money still manage to buy what they need. A criminal needs a gun to achieve his objectives they would still find a way to buy a gun or guns.

I get the issue with irresponsible households. But that;s like saying you should ban alcohol because of some irresponsible people who drive drunk and kill an innocent person.
On the other hand, there's a reason why we don't allow people to drink two bottles of vodka and drive 150 miles an hour in their Ferrari's down highways. Some people can handle their alcohol a lot better than Vidal. But because there are Vidals and they kill other people, we agree to 0.08 alcohol limit laws for drink driving, etc.

The responsible are always held back by controls over the irresponsibility of the few. That's just our contract with society to place the risk of fatalities ahead of the liberties to do dangerous things.

Actually it's probably better if they don't. If everyone can just look this up, it is impossible for the sex offender to establish a normal life. What do you think he's going to do if he can't live normally? How is it going to improve his behaviour? As for your own mental health, you are now in a constant state of paranoia.

How the fuck do you guys even come up with these things? It's a wonder you have sane people left.

Cause you know what happens, @Hustini? You see Rodrigo walking next to your four year old daughter and you assume the worst. Guy's a sex offender after all. You become angry. Who the hell does he think he is? So you get your gun and shoot him. Then you spend 20 years in prison.
100% agree with you except the bit where Cam shoots Rodrigo

If you are willing to release an ex-convict you better be willing to rehabilitate 'em. I understand why one would want to know if a sex offender lives next to his family, however divulging such information will hardly help either the one seeking to resume a normal life after paying his dues or the family man who knows the neighbor is a felon.

Best way imo would be to keep such info and hire cops or parole officers or whatever to maintain close supervision on these ppl for X amount of years.

As for the whole gun thing......what do you expect the citizens of a war mongering state that glorifies gun violence through almost all their windows of entertainment to be like loool

@Fr3sh...a lot of pedophiles and sex offenders are repeat offenders all of which have parole officers when they get out of jail/prison. Your position/argument is absolutely invalid because you can't monitor these offenders 100% of the time and if you could they wouldn't be repeat offenders now would they?

When you see a guy (or girl) get out...repeat the crime and get out again I don't think jail or rehabilitation is working so again, I maintain my stance. He will know that I know and life goes on for everyone.

You know I brought that exact point the last time this happened with Hollywood movies and even rap music infiltrating the minds of the mentally ill and I was laughed at because there was "no evidence" to suggest that. Even violent video games creating anger issues in teens. Nope, no one took it seriously then so I am curious to see how, if anyone, react that that comment of yours.

When it comes to the whole monitoring felons, I really don't have anything to make an educated suggestion about it. I do have an idealistic stand on it, where the felon would be able to rehabilitate itself and be a productive member of society. If you can't lock 'em for life and you can't kill, and decide to release the person, you're gonna need to something to help him maintain somewhat of a healthy life. This is really waay above me and I really can't come up with a solution for this type of shit.

As for the second part of course what one sees/hear constantly will have an impact on their behaviour and on the mindset of things. It's absolutely ridiculous to say that an individual that continuously enjoys music that promotes violence, enjoys video games that promote violence, watch movies that promote violence, listen to his political leaders spew bullshit about more violence and war on this and that, won't be effected by any of it. Some would be able to resist the constant bombardment of such negativity while others are mentally more fragile and are more susceptible indulge in the activities that their favorite rapper promotes.
