I suspect that will be the usual reaction from anyone that disagrees.

I'll take our way of life over anyone else's.

That's because it is very poor. And we have nowhere near the same amount of shootings as the US. They happen, but not to the same extent. And it's not a close call.
Norway & Charlie Hebdo. What was the other mass shooting he was referring too? He said 3 I think.

Yeah. That's like three in a couple of years and one of them wasn't the work of a lpne gunman. How many have you had this year?

Oh and I'm pretty sure you only know your way of life.

I've lived in Germany a couple times either for work or soccer and have been to Europe 8 or 9 times. I know it quite well.

My cousin was a district mayor for Vienna, Austria and the other half all live in Germany now. I get to hear all about it more often than not so I am quite familiar with Europe.

So, to my initial comment: I still prefer my way of life. :agree:

You go total emo over this shit though.
Emo over what?

And you may. There is nothing wrong with that.

But I do think you're not looking at this debate rationally. As if it would be unamerican to abolish guns.

I thought you didn't want to abolish guns? Are you side stepping your initial arguments?

And yes, abolishing will be looked at as unamerican here absolutely.

I don't. I'm in favour of gun control. But you act as if the option is unamerican. It has nothing to do with that. America is about freedom, not about guns.

Hold on. First you said abolishing guns wouldn't be unamerican and now you are saying gun control would be unamerican. They are two different things, Seven.

It is about freedom. One of those freedoms is owning a gun if we so wish. Taking that away infringes on our freedoms.

I'm not saying any of that. I'm saying that you should look at all the options. I feel like you dismiss strong gun control out right. And so do certain lobby groups. Why are there suddenly a billion articles about how gun control was not the issue but mental health was?

I've already told you I'm in favor of making it harder via more stringent background checks, etc. So, I am literally telling you right now that I am not dismissing anything and in fact agree it should be harder to get a gun via background checks and maybe other options.

To counter your last statement, you see a large increase of these kinds of articles every time Obama threatens to take away guns or certain guns which is always when something like this happens. Last time it was that bad I think was under Clinton who tried the same things. Lastly, pro-gun people ALWAYS point to mental illnesses in fact its the liberals that won't acknowledge it because it would be against their narrative. Every single kid that has done this has mental issues and it comes out slowly via the media when they have no choice but to grudgingly accept the fact the kids had issues and it wasn't gun laws that were to blame.

How did this particular guy get his guns btw?
The one in Oregon? Which one?

But do these kids with mental issues don't just go out and buy guns? If they had to interact with criminals and pay thousands for a handgun, how many would still be able to do it? The rhetoric of these articles is criminally wrong.

Just how fucked up is it that people start screaming guns are not the problem people are? Obviously the widespread sale of guns is a problem. As demonstrated by ALL facts.

See.. You even have to ask whicj one.. Yes, the one in Oregon.
Well, I wasn't sure if it was here or one in Europe since I have brought them all up.

I believe he got them legally via whatever the state law is in Oregon.

Probably background checks if I'm not mistaken.

Each state is different.

So imagine you couldn't buy guns legally there. Is it likely that he would have gotten his hands on a gun?

And if you think he could have, don't you think it would have at least been difficult?
