Decent, entertaining game. A draw would have probably been a fair result, but I'm not going to complain. Saw a few positive signs for the first time in weeks (months?), mainly a lot of movement & some "grinta".

Storari 8 - No comments needed.
Motta 6 - Surprisingly decent.
Bonucci 5,5 - Insecure & brainless at times. The potential is (still) there, but massive improvement is needed.
Barzagli 6,5 - Quite good, for once.
Grosso 7,5 - You've got to be kidding me.
Melo 6 - Decent, smart.
Aquilani 5,5 - Responsible for the highlight of the game: trying to lob Doni, while he was standing on his goal line. Other than that, the usual, which is just not good enough.
Marchisio 6,5 - Really good 1st half, less impressive in the 2nd half. Overall good game, but invisible for some people, I'm sure.
Pepe 5,5 - Meh. Not an awful lot of actual output.
Krasic 6,5 - Selfish & horribly out of sync, but still.
Matri 6,5 - Not an easy game but did fine.

Grygera 6 - No complaints. Kept it simple.
Sorensen -
Salihamidzic -

Melo was worth way more than a 6 i would give him an 8.5.

Your praise of Marchisio relative to that of midfielders who actually effected the game positively never ceases to amaze me. Marchisio 6.5 - Melo 6? None of that is within the realm of understanding for anyone who watched the game. I'm sure Marchisio covered his position real well.. I guess if he literally sat on his arse but stayed in position all game maybe that would be worthy of a MOM performance because that's how a midfielder needs to play his role.

where you wearing juve clothes melo :shifty:
No, my friends were but Police outside the stadium told them to cover it up so they had jackets over. I was adviced from a member of this forum not to wear the shirt so I passed. But did celebrate the 2d goal.
If you stop this video on 00:18, you see me in white shirt sitting over the "Frankie Garage" sponsor (I was right over the "K"). And when Grosso tricked the defender you see me turning to my friend and saying WTF!

I do not expect you, or anyone else for that matter, to agree with me, since player ratings are always about opinions, hence not objective. But I would appreciate it, if you kept crap like that to yourself.

Intriguing little bit of info I just saw though. How many of the 3 (big) sports papers rated Melo's performance in this particular game higher than Marchisio's?
Now, I'm not going to spoil the fun by just giving away the answer, but I am willing to give you a little tip: The number we're looking for is less than 1.

And I'm not saying we should live by what these papers write, I know I definitely don't. But it is kind of amusing how the general consensus on this forum in no way whatsoever reflects the general consensus of the so called experts.

Of course you would. One of them is Italian, the other one isn't :D

And Melo, how was your trip besides the game? What did you think about the city?

The city was great, really beautiful. Only problem was that our hotel was a bit far away from the city. The food was great and cheap, have you been there? I sure recommend you to take the trip. I didn't sightsee as much as my friends because I was feeling unwell day after we arrived but catched up day after. They were really praising everything as well.

The best part of the trip was seeing the Romanista's depressing face when we were walking out of the stadium

The English commentators said Melo was our best player on the night, he's usually grilled by them.

In no way was Marchisio more influential to our play.

One could say the same in regards to the papers, too.
Guess Krasic is Italian after all then. Turns out we didn't even sign a single non EU player

Yeah, I've been there. Beautiful city, but too many tourists for my liking.

More influential, I don't know. Marchisio was slightly better for me personally. Was happy with Melo's performance as well, but not as impressed as the majority here, it seems.

As for Marchisio, I'm probably going to watch the game again tonight. I'm going to keep a close on the midfield, but my opinion regarding this will probably remain the same.

I mean, just look at all the comments in the match thread about Marchisio. Pretty much all of them were jokes about how nobody knew he was on the pitch, even from people who pay close attention to tactics and the like.

I think Marchisio had quite a good game. I'm not sure what people expect of him sometimes. Some people only seem to appreciate him when he's doing things like scoring against Inter.
