Guys, I know we'll win and I think the gazetta line up will hold. Frankly speaking, I think Criscito should start, if we don't play him regularly now, when will we ever do, I want to see him play more, he's a part of the future and it starts now. Its a shame but I am yet to see a full Tiago match, (though I saw him on that Birra Morreti night) but I know he's good, however Ranieri has his reasons for not playing him for big encounters-yet, yet, because I have a feeling CR wants Tiago to perfect this serie A before he starts playing regularly, I think he's saving Tiago for the second half of the season-like an ace, then he'll unleash him (I hope am right, cos 13m euros aint a joke), the same applies to Almiron.

I think we'll see a stronger Juve for the other half of the season. We'll win 3-0, Molinaro might play, but CR might like to see Criscito as LB just in case. I don't like Sali in midfield, maybe he should play Marco instead or he'd better play a trident with Palla as the third guy switching sides with DP evry now and then. Should be fun to watch. Anybody pls, which stations are showing this match?

Juventus: Iaquinta ko, niente Lazio
14 12 2007

Here are the line ups: -

14 dicembre 2007

1 Buffon
2 Birindelli
3 Chiellini
4 Almiron
5 Zebina
6 Zanetti
7 Salihamidzic
10 Del Piero
11 Nedved
12 Belardi
17 Trezeguet
19 Criscito
20 Palladino
21 Grygera
22 Vanstrattan
23 Nocerino
24 Olivera
28 Molinaro
30 Tiago
32 Marchionni
33 Legrottaglie

In a nutshell, the Referee is Brighi from Cesena; Camo and Vinny, who has 'flu, won't be playing, whereas Molinaro and Grygera are available and are named in the squad to play against Lazio. (get well soon Vinny!)

BTW, there will be a minutes silence before the game, in memory of the two lads of Juve's Biretti, Ricardo Neri and Alessio Ferramosca, who died on Friday, 15th December 2006 at the Vinovo Centre. May they RIP.

Marcello Lippi at the Juventus Center
A pleasant surprise on the eve of the match in Rome: Marcello Lippi paid a visit to the Juventus Center in Vinovo. The former Juventus manager and World Cup winner had been invited by Claudio Ranieri when the two men met last Monday in Turin, at a talk given to present a book about the Avvocato Giovanni Agnelli.

Lippi arrived early in Vinovo together with Ciro Ferrara and, after visiting Juventus Center's Youth Academy facilities, he watched the first team training session, the last one before leaving for the capital.

Before meeting everyone, Lippi gave an interview to Juventus Channel that will be shown during the 231 Live programme at 3 pm. He spoke about today's Juventus, comparing it with “his” old Juventus teams, and previewed Saturday night's game: “I'd never been here in Vinovo and I have to pay my compliments to everybody, it really is a great facility. This team isn't the strongest? Even when I managed Juventus, often they weren't the strongest, but they would win in the end thanks to their mentality. Ranieri is doing a great job and also the big stars that have stayed, as they're transmitting the right mentality to the younger players. Lazio? They're always dangerous and they'll want to erase the Champions League disappointment”.

Missing out on Iaquinta might mean that Palladino will come in later in the game and play as a FORWARD

Ranieri: “Let's start winning away from home again”
Claudio Ranieri goes back to Rome, his native city, for the second time this season. After the draw with Roma, Juventus face Lazio and will go for the whole three points, more important than ever in this phase of the season. One week before the start of the winter break, to end the year with a positive run would be the best way to spend the Christmas holidays happily.

The team must win to keep up the pace in the top positions, but most of all to start winning away from home again, as it's been a while since the last away win. In fact, apart from the derby, the Bianconeri have only won once away from home this season, at Cagliari. “That's not a lot for a team with our ambitions - Ranieri confirmed during the press conference on the eve of the game -. Getting back to winning away from home would give us more of an awareness of what we can achieve. We're less confident away from home? I don't think that's the problem. Just look at our games. We did well in Rome, Florence and Milan. But the teams we face are always more motivated in front of their own crowd, for sure”.

The Bianconeri will face Lazio right after they were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid, but this won't make them any less motivated. Ranieri confirmed as much: “They played well in Madrid. Lazio have been handicapped by injuries this year. Everything went well for them last year, this year they've been very unlucky. But despite all this, Delio Rossi is doing remarkable things. We face a team that play well; they play vertically, they attack with several men at once and push forward on the wings. They have a good team organization. Do I remember a match against Lazio at the Olimpico? A 4-0 win in the Champions League when I was at Chelsea springs to mind, but I tend to look to the future, not the past”.

Juve go back to the Olimpico three months after the game against Roma, but this time without the star of that match. Iaquinta has the flu and joins a list of unavailable players that already included Camoranesi. “I'm sorry about that; he was doing well lately – Ranieri concluded -. But we're still going there to win. We’ll take advantage of AC Milan not playing? I don't worry too much about who we have behind us; we look to who's in front, knowing we can still improve. You just have to see how many games we've had to play without Camoranesi”.
