He has shown glimpses of incredible (for a defensive midfielder) technical ability, and although he's never going to make a killer pass like Pirlo or dribble past players like Messi, he can do much more going forward than Medel or Melo or Guarin (if he has one of his off-days, which happens ninety percent of the time.)
