Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman admits Juventus “have the best players on paper” but “we don’t fear anyone”.

The Giallorossi have, along with Napoli, been the Old Lady’s closest challengers in recent seasons, but have been unable to prevent the Turin giants racking up five Scudetti in a row.

“Once again they’ve taken the best players by buying them from their competitors, both us and Napoli” Strootman acknowledged in an interview with AD, with the Bianconeri having signed Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain.

It’s a bit like what Bayern Munich do in Germany with Borussia Dortmund. Does it bother us? It is what it is, so we don’t waste energy on it.

“They’ll have the best players on paper, but we can beat anyone and we don’t fear anyone.”

Strootman is coming off the back of almost two years out with a series of knee injuries, and gave an update on his condition.

“I’m not in top condition yet, but as you can see I’m playing without any restrictions. I was able to train without any problems throughout the summer.

“I should talk too much though and say everything is fine, it might bring bad luck!”

Lost most of my dislike for Roma. Spalletti is a likable guy, and I kinda feel bad for them for losing Benatia and Pjanic.

So is this going to make Roma implode in Serie A when it barely started? Is this the defeat that begins the end of the Spaletti reign? I mean they already felt very weakened by us taking their brain player, now any momentum or motivation that Spaletti managed to pump into the players is definitely gone. They will be broken just like how Roma's Garcia got broken after a CL drubbing.

I think it's too early in the season, the exit to Porto must have been already calculated.

I really hope Milan makes it to top 3 this season, unlikely as it is. I'm fed up with Napoli and Roma embarrassing Serie A in Europe over the last several years. Roma even when they qualify aren't any kind of benefit to us, since they tend to get hammered at least once every season and rarely progress past groups. We need more pulling power to negotiate better domestic TV deal (expires in 2018) and if they keep getting knocked themselves out against Portuguese sides, it's unlikely that we can expect any kind of improvement.
