If all this Aguero-to-Man City thing is indeed true, there really isn't much Marotta could be blamed for.

... this is simply outside the reality of any Italian team, right now.
Juve's only chance to sign Aguero was to close the deal before a high-powered team like City made him their target ... but then again, it's not like ATM were in a hurry to sell, at the beginning of the summer, for less than 45 mil as they knew it was only a question of time before City, Chelski, etc entered the scene ... the conditions for haggling Aguero's price down to something more manageable for Juve simply weren't there.
