They win a new war to exploit. Selling weapons, new allies, winning political points for the democrats, media attention (which brings billions), also selling natural gas to Europe after the embargo vs Russia.

Russia wins very little in case of war actually. Two small provinces that doesn't bring much value and any new territory will bring tons of Ukrainian resistance for decades. I'll admit that Putin is a total numbskull retarded madman if he invades Ukraine.

If there is a war it will be a huuuuuuuge win for the military-industrial complex. The whole of Europe will start buying weapons, tons of weapons will be sold to Ukraine.
Russia wins very little? It makes Ukraine second guess a potential association with the EU or NATO. Russia wants a bigger buffer zone, expansion and more leverage on the EU.

Jack up the Dow Jones!!!!

Yeah, well this needs to be a thread.

That said, I don't believe a word out of anyone's mouths. Putin lies like a Persian rug. And the reactions of constant panic and escalation from the West has been like a bad relapse of WMD pre-Iraq invasion. It all stinks to high heaven.

Maybe Putin will invade now that China's Olympics are over and they won't offend the 13 non-Chinese viewers of the Games. But I feel like I am just a pawn in a game of public manipulations between world leaders at the moment.

If there is an invasion Ukraine will have every right to join both NATO and EU to protect itself against the madman.

Biden hates natural gas drilling. He would rather sell Europe on renewables garbage.

"Biden outpaces Trump in issuing drilling permits on public lands

The widening gulf between the president’s policies on oil, gas and coal extraction and his initial promises has raised questions about his climate goals"

Biden is forced to issue permits now because gas prices have went up like 300% since he took office. His administration is one of the main culprits for higher domestic energy prices, now he's trying to save his ass from getting voted out of office.

The shift away from nuclear energy development to exclusively renewables is the dumbest thing we’ve seen on the energy front.

Yes, it's pretty dumb. But it's also retarded to not allow drilling permits in the midst of a pandemic, weather anomalies, clearly rising inflation, and competition from foreign nations, all for some sort of ideological reason. I mean fuck, the charts have been straight up since Biden took office.
