Oh come on Jack, don't try to make me out to be some kind of crusader trying to ruin everyone's fun. I didn't mention this or give any infractions for it until it was raised as an issue by forum members.

If I really felt so strongly I would have unilaterally started enforcing the rules, instead of opening this thread in an effort to hear people's opinions on how it should be handled.

As for the Giovinco issue specifically, I'm waiting to hear the team's opinions, but like I said, regardless of the outcome it's considered spamming and derailing when you guys go into other threads writing "F GIOVINCO".

This place is by no means a democracy but I'm posting this to get a general feel for people's opinions about loaned/co-owned players.

At this point, the rules are interpreted to mean that only players who are currently with the team are covered by the rules, but controversy has been stirred in the past few weeks, especially in the Giovinco thread.

So what do you guys think? We can't simply pick and choose which players are covered because there would be constant complaints, so the rules have to cover the Tiagos, Amauris and Criscitos too.

If we decide that we can't insult co-owned/loaned players because they are still Juve players, then I can insult Borriello since he's not a Juve player, but a Roma player.

I think it depends. Some on loan players would rather play for Juve but there is not enough room for them to get a first team place and they have to make the move whether they want to or not. Quetzalcoatl has a point in that it can work both ways. I don't see the need to insult them unless they insult Juve or their fans. There would be no point in insulting them otherwise.

Everyone is going to have different opinions on each player, so it's silly to implement some kind of 'pick and choose' system, where the ability to insult a player is based on their number of appearances or goals, or the last thing they said about the team to the media.

Those who would like to permit insults for players who no longer wear the Juve shirt need to understand that the same rule needs to apply consistently, whether it's Zlatan or Del Piero. Otherwise we'll have people complaining non-stop.

I think it's probably a good idea to protect his thread until the next season because of the things that will happen in there as people have a lot less to talk about in the off-season. Ibrahimovic is insulted on this forum more than Giovinco is. And it's funny how you and Sheik bring in Del Piero to support your arguments. It's one more game and he's gone, I really want to see if anyone in his right might would insult Del Piero. Why? Simply because there is absolutely no reason to. Just like I told Sheik yesterday (to give him a taste of his own medicine) that if loaned and co-owned players are not allowed to be insulted because they are Juventus players, then I will re-direct my insults towards Giaccherrini who still is a Cesena player. Not that it doesn't make any frigging sense but also I have absolutely no reason to.

So to sum this up, I kindly ask you to close this thread and with it this silly discussion, open the Giovinco thread and if Osman, Sheik and Zlatan are irritated by some members they can simply add them (us) to their ignore list and get going with it. I have a huge urge to go say a few FUCK Giovincos where they really belong.

You're right, and that's exactly the reason I opened this thread, to clarify things more broadly and generally instead of working on an ad-hoc basis. This is not specifically about Giovinco, but it's an opportunity to define what our stance is going to be as players arrive, get loaned and leave in the future.

Del Piero's name was raised not because we realistically think he'll be insulted, and I said so myself when it was first mentioned.

The reason it came up is to illustrate using the most extreme example. There will always be divided opinions about certain players, and I'm simply saying that if we're going to let insults slide because a player doesn't wear the shirt anymore, then it needs to be applicable universally, not based on the whims or preferences of specific moderators.

So to sum this up, I kindly ask you to close this thread and with it this silly discussion, open the Giovinco thread and if Osman, Sheik and Zlatan are irritated by some members they can simply add them (us) to their ignore list and get going with it. What's the point of having the ignore list function then? And what is it if it is not only a matter of ignoring posts? Didn't the whole thing start in the Giovinco thread when Suns, Hustini, Sheik, Zlatan and Osman complained about the pages and pages of FUCK Giovinco (damn it feels good typing that)?

As for you, if you really really really want to avoid reading a certain member's posts and cannot do it, you can always step down as moderator. Trust me, you will enjoy the forum in a much different way.
