B team vs B team. Fact is, he played in a role that suits him better and got a pretty good goal out of it.
Fact is, he's a B team calibre player, that can do well in a B team playing against another B team. When the quality of play rises, especially out of the opposition, he has been disappointing.

Hust simply said he looked better in the cm role and we arent saying anything other than that. Give the guy time like Morata and they will only get better
How do we know he looks better in a CM role? Perhaps he would have dominated the match as a winger if he had played there too? You can't really take much from this display, as the quality of opposition was too low.

Exactly. Don't think people read posts entirely. He needs to play in the CM role.

Give him time as CM against better opposition and I'm positive you will see a different Pereyra than you have seen this season as a trequartista.

I remember @X saying he used to be a winger in Argentina. So i wouldn't discard him yet, he might be useful if only for depth if we're to change formations.

Although I won't change my mind when i said he's too expensive for what he offers.

Well, "expensive" as in we're poor fuckers and 17mil is a lot.

We got 99 problems but Perreyra ain't one.

Although he isn't top notch I consider him a quality sub. Blaming our bad streak on a complementary midfielder while our attackers act bloodless and our CBs commit one lethal mistake after another? Seriously?
17M might be too much but it's still a better deal than Shaqiri for 18M. You know a player is useless when the selling team can't be bothered to get replacement.

The price is the problem with both the Morata and Pereyra deals. If they were just depth signings, I'd rather we spent the combined 37m on 1 player like Alexis Sanchez, than both Morata and Pereyra. Just my opinion though. And perhaps the two will turn out great eventually and I'll be wrong. I certainly hope I'm wrong. But with where our team was from last season, I would have rather brought in 1 star for that combined 37 mil, than two potentials, that may just be bench signings.

Classy finish considering the chances he has previously fluffed. I don't think he's ever going to be an assassin in front of goal or with his final ball but he's obviously very useful to us and can push the starters.

I assume all the previous Pereyra posts are to do with the transfer fee because it's a transfer window and we have to whine a lot, but it's not like the player paid if for himself.

Yup, all the hate is because of his price tbh.. not so much because of his missing goals. But i understand that.
He is good as a back, who knows maybe even better than a simple depth back up... but for that price RIGHT NOW is not ok.

One could sense the frustration though, those who support Marotta blindly (his deals consequently, Pereyra especially) were extremely frustrated from all the complaints that I and others did on this transfer. It took one Coppa match against Verona's substitutes to realize how they were on the verge of losing faith in this unnecessary sum we are paying for an average player like Pereyra. One game, one goal.
