Wouldn't it just have been easier to keep giaccherini who we didn't even sell for a profit following a positive confederations cup?
yeah but that was the summer before. Giacch was getting old, it was the last chance to make money on him. and we were close to sign Nainggolan to replace Giaccherini that same summer but "prolonged it" to the winter. then we practically screwed Inter for Guarin if their president didnt interfere. last summer it was between Candreva (who was too expensive) and Pereyra. Pereyra was wanted by Atletico and Roma and us but Udinese decided to sell to us probably due to the good relations between the clubs

what i meant is that players of his quality today are being sold for such money, if not more in some cases. we needed a 5th CM in the summer, and since no opportunities (like Vidal or Pogba for example) were available we decided to play it safe and get an excellent rotation player who wont complain sitting on the bench and can cover multiple positions. we missed out on Nainggolan, Candreva was too expensive, so Pereyra was the best we could find at the moment, cant hit the jackpot everytime
Do not agree that he's the best we could get.Need to look beyond Italy for that. When i mean beyond Italy,it doesnt necessarily have to be in inflated money leagues like EPL.

Anyway we're deviating from the original point here.

Juve are a team that needs to spend its money more carefully unlike other top teams who can afford to overpay for average players while at the same time are able to strengthen their first team too.
I believe we only need to spend substantial sums for 'depth' unless those players that can make the step up to the first team.I dont see Pereyra as that player. As a matter of fact,we have already have had one failure in the past with Isla and Ogbonna looks to be heading in that direction too,but we'll have to wait and see.

Our depth is pretty much complete now. I see us going for quality now in the summer and by that I mean spending big on one or two key players.

We'll have to wait and see i guess. Therefore its critical to avoid signing players like Zaza who would be another 'depth' signing.

I can only type so fast cuz I'm on my phone: I think An EPL team could pay up for Llorente but I agree he could go back to Spain more likely.

Marotta will always looks for deals and we all know that, as he likes to call them, "market opportunities". :beppe:

That doesn't mean we won't look for more pricey ones too is what I'm trying to say (example jovetic).

if any epl team signs him it would be an average one, liverpool at best

signing zaza would be an absolute travesty to the direction this club ought to be going

In all likelihood, atleast ~35-37m of the budget is going towards redeeming Pereyra,Berardi and maybe Romulo too.How much more money we have remaining to make additional signings is anyone's guess. And that likely wont be a lot unless we sell Vidal or Pogba.

I've already stated my reasons why i'd prefer to have Llorente than bring Zaza back.

And Liverpool can afford a 11-12m offer
They won't pay that and he doesn't suit their high pressing style which is partly why balotelli has been such a fail

yup, that's why I don't believe we will bring anyone significant this summer, if anything it will be similar to the last or worse

If Pereyra can add goal scoring to his game he will turn into a very good player for us. That is really the only thing he's missing from his game as his all round game is quite good.

Pereyra being on the bench is a sin. Totally undeserved. Deserved a starting even in fucking pre-season. Vidal is ahead of him only because of past glory. Pereyra is playing like the Vidal of 2012, while Vidal is the second season Amauri
