To me he hasn't proved himself in 5 years. He had good periods with us when it was pleasure to watch him play but the bad periods for me are overwhelming. If he could be consistent in top form, he would be indispensable. He is far from it. I simply want a player that I could count on for overwhelmingly good performances. Is that too much to ask for?
I'm sure many of the Dybala haters would be fine if Dybala accepted rotational role, but if he wants a key role and the number 10 shirt he has to be like Platini, Baggio or Del Piero. Can you really compare him to them even only by the work rate and not talent?
Having such an inconsistent player as a focal point is a suicide for a team with our ambitions. I would rather have 3-4 young attacking players fighting for a place than count on a player capable of losing form for 4 months.
