Very rarely do they spend a bucket load of money on one player. Vidal and Javi Martinez the past few seasons I believe are the largest they've spent in the past few years. They are not one of those flashy 100 million euro signing type of clubs. Far from it.

I fully agree with you, but Bayern made a huge mistake with Guardiola and his 17 mil euro/year wages. I think they would be better off with someone like Klopp. To me it looks like Guardiola is trying to fix something that ain't broken.

Still, it is amazing to see that the club could still run so well even with this coach and transfer policy.

Absolutely. And let's not for a moment forget the amount of quality with their own homegrown talent. The roster is littered with them (Lahm, Alba, Mueller, among others)

And this is why I can't fault Marotta and Paratici for at least attempting to acquire whatever young talent there is on the peninsula.

Their coach could actually be their biggest downfall, and no amount of talent can overcome that.

i hope im right too. would be quite stupid to leave after this. if i wanted to leave, i wouldnt make such a request. i wouldnt even take the number if i get offered out of respect for the club and fans, if i planned to leave. that doesent mean its written in stone he will stay though. things might change, something might happen to make him change his mind in the future. but as of right now, i dont think he is planning to leave the club in the near future

It would only further people's beliefs that a number is simply that. A number. If you put a gun to my head, I don't think Pogba would have done this and view it as a short term solution.

Changing his kit number doesn't make him better, or more of a fantasista type of player.

If anything, he has put more pressure on himself by requesting that number. This really is a high risk move for him from a perception standpoint. With all respect to the great player that Vidal is, he is not in the same hype train as Pogba, not even close. Pogba is very special compared to Vidal, even when the latter was detrimental to us when on form.

Selling Pogba is an even more delicate issue because he is one of a kind, he cant be replaced man for man.
