But there are only a small handful of teams that can do that. You know this. Juve right now are one of those "lightning in a bottle clubs"

And Bayern is a perfect example of how Juve wants to run things. I'm glad you brought up Vidal and Bayern. They don't spend a ton of money every year. They have a very good player development system, buy young german players from within the leagues, and make what you would call opportunistic signings. Very rarely do they spend a bucket load of money on one player. Vidal and Javi Martinez the past few seasons I believe are the largest they've spent in the past few years. They are not one of those flashy 100 million euro signing type of clubs. Far from it.

The problem though when comparing Bayern to Juve is that they have a good 5 year head start on us as far as where we want to be.
Yes, but we're still too far off them. I mean, just look at the way we handled Draxler's negotioations FFS. Managing to convince Pogba about that might be tricky, to say the least.

but my assumption has more to be based on. he is a very intelligent person, he doesent seem like the guy who would do something like ask for the 10 shirt at Juve just to request a transfer 12 months later. thats something Balotelli would do for example, but not Pogba.
I hope you're right, zizi. I just don't see it, especially how things look for us right now.

But still, not anywhere close to where the rumored wages he would have been receiving somewhere else.
They also have the advantage of a hugh talent pool. Bundeliga is producing a lot of young talents. Whereas there aren't as many talented young italians right now.

I fully agree with you, but Bayern made a huge mistake with Guardiola and his 17 mil euro/year wages. I think they would be better off with someone like Klopp. To me it looks like Guardiola is trying to fix something that ain't broken.

Still, it is amazing to see that the club could still run so well even with this coach and transfer policy.

Didn't I say that in my last sentence, as far as being 5 years behind them? :D

And yes, the initial offer for Draxler was insulting, and I stated as much. I really like that kid, and I think he would be great here. But, it's not up to me.

Everything points to it. Pogba has never said he wants out. Raiola isn't pushing it. We turned down 80million from Barca for next year. He asks for the 10 and we give it. All signs of harmony and understanding
Vidal said he didn't want to leave neither look how that turned out. Just because we turned down 80 mill this season doesnt mean we wont turn down 100 mill+ next - Andrea Agnelli has never hidden that fact, he has made it abundantly clear that if the right offer comes we will sell.

Absolutely. And let's not for a moment forget the amount of quality with their own homegrown talent. The roster is littered with them (Lahm, Alba, Mueller, among others)

And this is why I can't fault Marotta and Paratici for at least attempting to acquire whatever young talent there is on the peninsula.

Their coach could actually be their biggest downfall, and no amount of talent can overcome that.

But speaking strictly about the way they build their squad, I would love for Juve to follow that model.

Well what's he gonna say? You all are a bit hypocritical you choose to believe some people's words then you say we'll just because the player said he didn't want to leave now look. Which one is it ? Stand by people's words or no? Also how do you choose whose trust worthy in their words ?

i hope im right too. would be quite stupid to leave after this. if i wanted to leave, i wouldnt make such a request. i wouldnt even take the number if i get offered out of respect for the club and fans, if i planned to leave. that doesent mean its written in stone he will stay though. things might change, something might happen to make him change his mind in the future. but as of right now, i dont think he is planning to leave the club in the near future

It would only further people's beliefs that a number is simply that. A number. If you put a gun to my head, I don't think Pogba would have done this and view it as a short term solution.

Changing his kit number doesn't make him better, or more of a fantasista type of player.

If anything, he has put more pressure on himself by requesting that number. This really is a high risk move for him from a perception standpoint. He has basically come out and claimed that he is ready to carry this team on his back. No one just arbitrarily takes the number 10 because its a cool number. Anyone with even a minimal amount of knowledge about this club knows just how precious that number is.
This. He is not a Juve newbie. He witnessed how the 10 was handled when tevez came and it was not a minor deal, he knows that before tevez there was del Piero, another huge name. I dont think he is moronic enought to throw himself into this 10 mess...to just say "fuk im bored" and leave the next year.

:agree:

#10 at Juve has a great meaning for the fans and the club itself. you dont go to Marotta, say "let me have the 10 shirt", and come back a year later and ask for a transfer. you have to be a $#@!ing retard to do that.
That would be just moronic.

With all respect to the great player that Vidal is, he is not in the same hype train as Pogba, not even close. Pogba is very special compared to Vidal, even when the latter was detrimental to us when on form.

Selling Pogba is an even more delicate issue because he is one of a kind, he cant be replaced man for man.

It will all depend on Pogba, not on Agnelli. IM pretty sure of it. UNless something goes very wrong with our finances..i dont see agnelli forcing this sale just because of money.

Well put. I think people have just turned so negative because we sold Vidal. It's like they were vidaltinos!, not Juventinos
