Wasn't that Chiellini?!!! though I might be wrong
I heard a commentator during a Juve match, last season in serie A, stating that Juve had signed Balza because he was similar to zambro.

Why do we need an LB? Maybe we can use him as a tweener LM/LB, but we still have Balzaretti who is a perfect backup to Chiellini who is the top young LB in Italy. Chiellini is going to be GREAT and the best part is that he is really good right now. Why would we move Chiellini to CB. That is beyond stupid. He is a top notch LB and an adequate alternative at CB. Pasqual is pointless, but if he likes sitting on the bench and playing out of position, lets pick him up.
Good question! I don't like the rumours about buying players for positions that we have covered, especially when the players we have are better. It suggests theat the BoDs intend to sell off our better players and replace them with lesser players.

I think Chiellini will end up as a CB and will become a very good CB. Maybe not next season but sooner or later. His physique is more suited to CB and he isn't that good going forward.
:agree:

I was expecting to see a new board this summer, our current managers look like urgent/temporary solutions, our most important transfer should start with our staff...

looks like this rumor is heating up again

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Juventus are moving their attention away from Lyon full-back Fabio Grosso and toward Fiorentina's Manuel Pasqual, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri are in the market for a left-back, as Cristian Molinaro is out until October at the earliest and Paolo De Ceglie is also struggling with injury.

De Ceglie is likely to be fit in time for the new season, but Juventus are said to be looking for someone with greater experience in Europe.

In that respect, Grosso is the outstanding candidate, having competed in the Champions League with Lyon since 2007.

Lest we forget, Grosso was also a crucial member of the Italy side that won the World Cup in Germany three years ago.

However, Grosso will be 32 in November and another target, the highly rated Lazio full-back Aleksandar Kolarov, costs too much.

Consequently, attention has turned to Pasqual, whose contract with Fiorentina expires in 2010, making him relatively cheap.

The 27-year-old isn't thought to be pursuing a renewal as he has played little this season and is now said to be looking for a new challenge.

Juventus have already contacted his agent and are negotiating a price that will not exceed £5m, according to La Gazzetta.

Pasqual joined Fiorentina from Arezzo in 2005 and has made 95 appearances for the Viola. He also has two caps for Italy.

Pasqual used to be a rather good player. Not to sure about him now though, haven't seen a lot of him this season.

Btw, is it confirmed Molinaro will only be back by (at the earliest) October? Last thing I heard was that he would most likely return during the summer.

Pasqual over Dossena indeed, even if the former has turned out to be one hit wonder. But getting any LB while keeping our duo means Criscito isnt coming, and I rather get him back, especially when he has been the most impressive LB of the season.

Molinaro is out tll September.

Pasqual. Still a reliable defender and now that Grosso is consigned to the long grass, he is a value purchase compared to the other LB's linked to us.

Dossena - no thanks.

I don't blame Benitez trying to do a De Ceglie/Dossena scambio.

Even Secco wouldn't fall for that.

Pasqual's actually been back to his best this season, if you're going to trust the Svenskafans.com Viola staff.

Pasqual and Pazzini from Fiorentina would be great. I think that Chiellini is not good enough for Juventus. Man he lacks ballcontrol. Balzaretti is much better. Lets play Pasqual - Zambro LB-RB respectively.

Or sign Ujfalusi and play him RB and Rambo LB.
i personally dont see much in chiellini,, he just use long balls and ruff tackles.

Is not that good defending and doesnt help much in attack. He is another Blasi-style player, do what he can but thats it..
2 years from that quote...

Chiellini is one of the best center back that we have. :mark: :mark: :mark:
