A short spell of good form doesn't make you a good player or a reliable one.
Well we wouldn't know now would we? If we continues to improve then we may as keep him and give him an honest shot rather than sign more average players. Unless we get a great LB what sense does it make to sign and pay wages of another player?

If anything DC should be the backup of a WC player.

Well if you looked objectively at all his professional games up until that game you wouldn't know for sure, but you would have a pretty good idea. Completely agree on the latter.

I know but it makes more sense to either sign someone great and DC be on the bench or keep DC there until one comes available instead of throwing money down the drain again for another "slightly" above average player.

Before injury he had 5 or 6 of his best games in a Juventus shirt, actually resembling a good fullback.
He didn't :D
He played 6 serie A games total. He had very good first haves against Milan and Inter, but unfortunately he got injured in 40th/45th minute in both of them. He was good in the match against Lecce, the one we won 4:0, and that was it.
In the 3 europa league matches he played, he was as bad as the rest iirc.

Very good performances in the total of 85 minutes he played against the top 2 teams in Italy were indeed promising, but way too little for any conclusion. Those 85 minutes don't outmatch the awful season he had last year and the very little promise he's shown in the season before that.
