He's majorly in vogue at the moment and thus very marketable - particularly as he comes from the league that has the most global exposure.

Him being super duper hyped world wide also makes him a marquee signing, which a president at Real (that's subject to elections) needs to make in order to stay on the members' good side. At least, that's the current thinking.
