I guess they´re not losing money with fan attendance, but it sure looks sad when you see Juve playing in an empty stadium. Specially when I´d give anything to be there:D

No, I think the opening ceremony will be in the renovated Stadio Communale.
Perhaps we just don`t have the money at the moment or we wait if we get the euro 2012.
Yep. The old Communale is the Stadio Olimpico for Torino 2006.

lestat_1987, I think you are right. The fans at the stadium don`t bring the big money. the millions in front of the tv bring the big money. I think the income from the stadium is less than 10 percent of our income. Most fans at the stadium have season tickets for the curva and this year they even sold 1 euro tickets. That doesn`t bring the big money.
A new stadium could bring much more money if the attendance goes up and there are sky boxes and business seats that can be sold for much more money.

Seeing Juve play in an 70.000 stadium with just 20-30.000 fans makes me sad. Moreover in tv it looks even worse because fans don`t want to sit in the first rows of the stadium because you can`t see the field from there and that makes the delle alpi look even more empty.

Didn't the Guiseppe Meazza (better known as the San Siro) get their third tier when the state financed a 50m overhaul?

Hopefully we get the same.

I think the city council is not the problem. We got the delle alpi for 99 years for 25 millions. I just think that the management just wants to see if we get the euro 2012 and if we get it we will get money from the city and the state for the new stadium.

I hope that Italy gets the euro 2012 becaues a few new stadiums would not be bad for the serie A. Just look at germany. In germany there have been built a lot of great new stadiums for the world cup. That would also be good for italy and hopefully improve the attendances and make football more attractive again.

Does anybody know how Torino financed the rebuilding of the communale? I think they don`t have the money. Did they get it from the city because it hosts the opening ceremony of the olympic games?

In the new financial report it says:

"Following the extension of the time required by the city of turin to issue the buildingpermits needed to start work to restructure the Stadio Delle Alpi, the Company has been forced to postpone the beginning of work to May 2006"

Let`s see if they start in May 2006
