 :wallbang: zlatan, i thought U knew more about this!!!! dont u guys KNOW that the reason why our stadium aint FULL is because the fans thinks its TO far from the pitch... and can u really blame them, another reason is the prices of a ticket... anyway the real reason is that its to far from the pitch, soooooo if we build a new stadium (english style) without a running track, then even if its for 70K it will be FULL because then fans will be close to the pitch and that will be fantastic!!!!

bollocks.

I do know more about it, enough to know that the distance from the pitch is not the only reason. The stadium is far from the city, it's very cold and windy and Turin is divided between Juventus and Torino fans. The fans dont like the stadium, it may look good from the outside but it's very poor inside, just thousands of tonns of concrete.

So the distance from the pitch is not the only reason.

Yes, the stadium is really far from the city and there is no underground to the stadium. There are no shops or bars near the stadium. It is just an ugly area around the stadium. I would prefer building a new stadium nearer to the city with more infrastructure.
Like Zlatan said, from the inside there are tons of concrete. If you see it from the inside you think that it was built in 1960 and not for the 1990 world cup. Everything is dirty and there is no comfort. Watching a game in such a big stadium with just 25k spectators is somehow depressing. I like the delle alpi from the outside but inside it is just ugly. I can`t wait until we start rebuilding it.

Patience is whats needed, process's like this take time, especially if its not a desperate situation, which it isnt.

Do u want it done properly or a half arsed effort....rememeber it isnt jus the stadium they will be renovating, they will also be addin numerous other facilities.

Whatever they wanna do, they better do it quick.

It's been mooted for some two years now and still there's nothing to show for it...
Bullshit, there's no hurry. Like John said:

And I'd like to add that Italy is gunning for their chance to arrange Euro 2012. That said, the board of the club is waiting because they might get the stadium renovated for free, because the state would do the job for them. The situation right now isn't THAT urgent, there's no hurry since Juventus stands firm with their financials.

Along with renovating Delle Alpi, they are also making it much more than just a stadium. New headquarters, training center, restaurants, movie theaters, shops etc. etc. They are simply planning to create entertainment for everyone.

exactly, we dont have to do it now, we have played without fans for ages :dontcare:..............

seriously tho, it does need an "entertainment" complex, possibly a night club :cheesy:....dreaming

Having a whole two years to plan it isn't exactly a "half-arsed effort".Not that there's any rush or anything but I'd like to get that cash flowing in as soon as possible.

Do you really think the state is going to build an entertainment complex, bars, shops etc. And why would the state build the stadium to Juve's needs anyway, if it were to be rebuilt for Euro 2012?

Now you don't realize how big sums of money are we talking about. Two or more years doesn't mean a shite in the long run if Italy got to hold Euro 2012. It's a risk, but it's definitely worth taking.

Of course the state isn't going to fund an entertainment complex, but it is going to fund the Delle Alpi's renovation for Euro 2012, IF Italy got their bid granted. Naturally lots of the shops etc. would be placed inside the stadium...

And you ask why they'd do it. Well, you need to understand Italian culture bit better too. There are many things that are decided behind the curtains, not to forget the fact that big city like Turin needs better stadium. And if Italy got the Euro 2012, it would be a scandal if Turin didn't get to host any games.

I just hope that if Italy gets the euro 2012 we get money to build a stadium we want and not a stadium the state or the city wants. Look at the delle alpi. The delle alpi is a stadium that the city wanted because they wanted a stadium with a running track. If we get some money and build the stadium we want it is totally okay for me to wait. It would be stupid to build it now if we get perhaps 70-100 millions from the state in 2 or 3 years for building it.

Juve surley needs a stadium. We can all agree on that.
Then we have this question about attedence...
Another issue is where.

Anyone who has been to delle alpi knows that it´s a stadium without soul in a landscape forgotten by good.
Looks like something belongin to the military.

IMO we need a 50-70K stadium very central. So the stadium becomes one with the city.
That will easúp the possibility to make spontaneity visits.
That will also increase the possibility to make a Juve-center with restaurants, museum and other misc action.

So... hopfully we´ll have that in time for at least 2010... Or?

Yes, you are right. There is just nothing where the delle alpi is. I would not recommend to build shops and a cinema there. I just don`t think that people want to spend their time in this area. It is just an gray and ugly place. Let`s realise the project nearer to the city in a nicer area. I think an entertainmet complex would not work there. Too far from the city and too ugly environment.

ahh allright... but anyway, why would juve rebuild it if its still to far from the city?..

It would be better to build a new stadium closer to the city, wouldent it?

Yes, that would be deffinately much better but also much more expensive. We would have to find and buy some land and build a totally new stadium. I would prefer a totally new stadium but I think it would be twice as expensive as rebuilding the delle alpi.

Perhaps the work hasnt started because of the Turin Winter Olympics in 2006. I mean, they are probably going to host the opening/closing ceremony there, wouldnt be very nice if the stadium was a construction ground, would it.
