Trans

Here's the thing. I have had coworkers who had gender reassignment surgery 20 years ago. And I'm not saying some of my best friends are trans, but I really don't give a crap and don't see why anyone else should. So in that sense, i would consider myself something of an "ally".

But if I have to download and study a daily minefield of the word choices of the week for every fetish on the planet -- to know if that's now considered offensive or not -- f*#$ that. Linguistic gymnastics is performative window dressing for the weak.
Pretty sure we know the same coworkers. I'm an ally too.

Kinda funny how "intersectional feminism" has turned around to screw women over. Look at Caster Semenya - a natural born woman banned from competing in the Olympics, while trans women are allowed.
Now here's the funny bit about feminism.

Beauty pageants were terrorism imposed by the patriarchy. They held women up to be judged only by their looks, with impossible beauty standards defined by men. Boycott. Throw them in the trash. Set them on fire.

But then a group of black women win... and suddenly it's like, "Hey! You go, girls! Yeah!!!"

And then the trans winners of them get, "Yes, a big win for LGBT community! Woo hoo!"

Which is a bit like condemning the Nazi death camps at Auschwitz ... and then turning around and celebrating their existence the moment they let Latinx and Asians in.

I'm so excited for our new transgender drone pilot program.

Generally I don't care that much about this issue.

But, in Belgium at least, public healthcare does pay for those surgeries. And frankly, they are aesthetic. We don't change men into women. We transform them into men with boobs and without dicks. Mostly they end up odd looking and unhealty.

Suicide rates don't appear to go down after surgery either.

I don't think they really solve anything.

Maybe it would be different if we would be able to truly change someone's gender, but we're not.

So honestly, yes, I'm already on the fence about some of their issues. If they then come at me and call me a cunt for using the word trans or bombard me with whatever cis privilege they accuse me of, I mostly lose the will to care for their struggles.

A little late to this party, but wasn’t she born intersex? She has XY chromosomes. 46 XY dsd (which affects .018% of population). Doctors/parents chose to assign her as a female at birth. So she’s kind of a unique case. IMO, should be considered a woman as she has been raised as such since birth, but the media reporting on her battles with the IAAF was kind of misleading as a lot of them chose to not mention her XY chromosomes (and likely internal testes).

Afghanistan is back in the news for this weekend's Meet the Presstitute shows. Apparently their government is losing again to the Taliban and need more help... even after 20 years of us being there. Talk about failed foreign policy.

There needs to come a point where you have to start trying to figure out how the Taliban is addressing needs that the government is not.
Know an older guy from Afghanistan, normal lad, got nothing going on with religion. Explained that the Taliban were popular for maintaining order on the streets while not terrorizing the population unlike ISIS, simple acts of 'justice' like they find a thief and hack off his hand. Then on that street there wouldn't be thieves anymore. Government would never give a shit.
