The English Patient

So I was wrong about Ralph Fiennes being a B actor. (But then if you'd read my signature you'd wouldn't be quite so shocked.) Turns out he can also play a moody, self absorbed and annoying writer wannabe. Doesn't change the fact that he sucked in In Bruges :p

I started watching this movie thinking I'd like it as much as Elaine on Seinfeld. It's not that bad though, even though it is really long and contains an interminable stream of not-so-thrilling reveries. The central love affair plot is pretty tedious, but what's happening around it is more interesting. Female actors much better than the males in this one.
The Schindler's List wasn't enough for you? :disagree:
I read Ludlum (niiiiiiice), I read Michael Caine, wooooooh, then....terrible?

*reads who made the post* Oh, nevermind :D
:D

I'm off to watch This Is Spinal Tap in about 10 minutes.

Saw '28 Weeks Later' yesterday, a big meh, they made many mistakes such as removing the whole feel of the first film, ie the emptyness that the first film conveys, they had Robert Carlyle, a brilliant actor, and then killed him in the first 25 mins, which i dont get why you would do that as he has such an enmormous screen precence, if you are going to have an actor such as him on the cast, why not put someone else in his role and give him a role that lasts most of the film? Aside from that, it wasnt a terrible film if you like that kind of thing, but this was definatley not a zombie film lol.

I also watched 'Billy Madison' a film that i have ben told by all of my friends is the best Adam Sandler movie, i fear that their minds have been clouded by time and if they watched it again wouldnt like it as much. Again not a terrible movie. hes made a lot worse, but it could have been so much better. I think my favourate Adam Sandler movie will remain 'Happy Gilmore', iv lost a lot of respect for him since the ridiculously rascist 'Dont Mess With the Zohan'

I saw "Public Enemies" last night. I thought it was really good but I was a bit disappointed with Bale's role, i thought it would have been more monstrous. Depp was great as usual, he looked like a real criminal but again the movie disappointed me by showing so few of his criminal acts. All in all it was a good.

I would really really like to see this film, haven't had the chance yet.

I fear i didnt realise how far the Sci Fi genre reached, i knew it wasnt restricted to space but its kind of where you start of with sci fi, as its sibling genre of fiction (fantasy) deals with the other areas of the occult fiction. I would personally not put a distopian film as sci fi but apparently it is, my appologies for being wrong.

Martin, 'In Bruges' is one of the best films of the decade, get over yourself, i didnt say it was the best film of this year as it wasnt released this year.
