None that I can think of.

It's strange because you would think video games would transfer easily to movies.
Not quite. I think majority of games are there for the fun. It's quite rare that the story is good. There's Witcher but the original source are the books.

RPGs are sort of impossible to transfer to a big screen despite the good storyline while majority are linear shooters, hack and slash and others. Then there are some good ones but they are based on quality quests so unless characters are gripping and unless it's a big world I don't think it's possible.

I expect literally nothing from MGS.

Just watched Mank and the focus lies on Hollywood business shenanigans and their entanglement in politics rather than on the creative process of writing the script for Citizen Kane if that was what you were interested in. @Dostoevsky But a very enjoyable movie which gets better the longer it goes on. If you're like me and don't know much about Hollywood early years the movie will not jump on your throat, instead carefully deliver the narrative step by step so that by the end you know 25 jewish characters and their relation to each other. Still, presumably there are dozens of references you will not get. Technically it's should be right up the alley of Fincher enthusiasts with scene blocking and shit that gives this movie a typical Finsher feeling. It's well crafted and acted and zoomers will hate it because it's long and there are no trannies and faggots and superheroes. One malus point goes to the casting of Charles Dance as Hearst - you don't waste a brillant actor for five sentences in horrible fake american accent...bru.

Yeah i watched a japanese classic yesterday, from Akira Kurosawa "Ikiru". I don't know haha it was very difficult to watch
You should watch Tengoku to jigoku. You'll find it much easier to digest and you'll probably like it.

Kurosawa is amazing, though, but he needs special attention, concentration and focus on details. Camera work in his movies is brilliant.

Watched Tenet last night in a theatre. While I liked the experience, as a movie it was somewhere between okay and good. I do hope theatres don't go extinct. It'd be a shame if it did.

I meant some lesser known movies. I watched all of those (and I liked all).
7 years in Tibet for example it's based on the history, so it's Gladiator. They're visually great, made 3 years apart from eachother. Telling a story, making you question certain things in life etc. I just can't come up with anything more similar, or maybe i just haven't seen enough movies.

I'd search movies based on those things, if there's anything similar but if someone in here can offer a helping hand, i might check them too.
