Last were Lawrence and Psycho. Nothing deeper for quite a while. I only read deep shit nowadays.

What about you, anything good you watched lately?
Yes, I watched Embrace of the Serpent recently. Really great movie about two separate explorers in the Amazon jungle in the beginning of the 20th century. Mainly about the difference between the materialistic west and the simple tribals. Really good.

I also pulled my shit together and watched Bresson's Diary of a Country Priest. Amazing. Very similar to (and a big influence on) Bergman's Winter Light.

And i rewatched Barry Lyndon (hence the avatar). Masterpiece!

Few of them I'm yet to watch, but overall I liked most of them. Wild Tales would be my pick of the bunch.
Finally saw Wild Tales. Great flick

And it had all the signs of a "newly discovered Latin American director" who gets lured into some bloated Hollywood billion-dollar production. And sure enough ... The Six Billion Dollar Man with Mark Wahlberg:

Seems like Scorsese's The Irishman is finally going to get made. Looks positive at least: http://deadline.com/2016/05/martin-scorsese-the-irishman-stx-huge-deal-mob-films-1201756232/

"The film will star Scorsese’s longtime collaborator Robert De Niro and most likely Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel. The Irishman was adapted for the screen by one of the best screenwriters working today — Steve Zaillian — from the Charles Brandt book I Heard You Paint Houses which is the deathbed story from mob hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran about the disappearance and death of the former Union boss Jimmy Hoffa. Zaillian previously scripted Scorsese’s Gangs of New York and his credits range from Schindler’s List to Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. He’s been nominated for four Oscars (including Gangs) and won for Schindler’s List."

As long as they just steal the director, not the movie, like they did with El secreto de sus ojos, and turned it to english with hollywood actors, and the many movies before this one.
