The only upbeat part of the movie was when he and Mrs Lincoln were thinking of vacationing to Jerusalem.

I didn't read the book, but from what I heard, they already covered around half the book with 2 movies remaining. Can someone confirm this?

Re-watched one of my favorite historical movies, the Name of the Rose starring Sean Connery, Christian Slater and Ron Perlman. From 1986, it is one of Slaters first major roles, IIRC. Based on the novel of the same name by Umberto Eco. Highly recommended medieval murder mystery that takes place in a northern Italian monastery.

Right now I'm about to re-watch "Until The Light Takes Us" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1014809/ a documentary about the Norwegian black metal scene of the early and mid 90's. During the period numerous churches were burned and one musician was convicted of murdering another. Maybe not for everyone, but I thought it was well done.

I won't even argue this, the Balkans and subsequently Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia all have a great and unique cinema. If you want to write this off based on one movie where girls are being fucked then you're free to chose your sexual preference or watch something else.
