No he didn't that's all fabrication. Read their biographies and see their words not others who create controversy where their isn't
Well, I did not read his biography, but I don't think it's fabriacted - Tokien:

I cordially dislike allegory in all its manifestations, and always have done since I grew old and wary enough to detect its presence
Narnia is nothing but Christian allegories.

That would be both cs lewis and jrr tolkein were both devout Christians and best friends and they wrote they're tales to spread the christian message to an audience that wouldn't normally look at it
I've read the first and last book of the trilogy and I've also read the Bible and heard the "Christian message", but I kinda failed to see the obvious connection there. Tolkein paints a decent picture of idolatry and how it works in our lives, but that's about it.

Gandalf arriving ressurected on the white horse in the final battle
Jesus arriving ressurected in the final battle of Armageddon ( revelations) just to name one instance

Well I'm just saying if it's written as a fairytale to preach the gospel it failed it's purpose, it does paint a few pictures from Bible, but so does The Lion King and Hamlet for example, doesn't mean they're based on scripture.

The quote from Tolkien can't convince him, so don't even bother. People interprete (and have interpreted) the books differently, which is what Tolkien wanted - it's not an allegori.

As a trilogy there are others better than the Godfather, because Godfather III sucks balls.

I'd say the original Star Wars trilogy, the LOTR trilogy.. hell, even the Toy Story trilogy is better.

But Godfather and Godfather II are the best original - sequel combo ever. But Godfather III really, really sucks in comparison.
This x infinity

Part I and II were just absolute cinematic masterpieces in every sense.

Part III was just like a terrible straight to video shitfest that should never have been made and nearly wrecked the whole series. Sofia Coppola's acting :sergio:
