The Fighter

WHAT A MOVIE

Very emotional and well acted movie by all, from Wahlberg to the most minor role. Absolutely reminded me why Bale is my favourite actor (hasnt been doing challenging roles lately), fucking amazing performance as Dicky Eklund. Has several scenes you actually forget its an actor acting, and immersed to the fact you watching a genuine dude. I didnt bother to watch Oscars. But if he didnt win, the award would be a bigger farce then it already is.

Is that something like Raging Bull?

Nope, not at all. Raging Bull is extremely rare and raw movie hehe. This is a boxing movie too, but more about the struggles of the family then the struggles of the ring.

in all honesty i found the fighter to be a very good film, but not as tremendous as had been hyped. in all honesty i feel that the film plodded along every time Bale was off screen but he was absolutely outstanding, a real tour de force and cementing his place as probably the best actor of his generation.
was a bit surreal watching him play 10 years older than Mark Whalberg though

I watched World Invasion:Los Angeles, which surprisingly was really good, good action and great filming works, Aaron Eckhart brings his twoface character alot here, with the way he talks and facial expressions.

Then I got to watch Rango,Johnny Depp does it again..It was deep, imaginative (trippy), unique and very good story and animation, with some very funny lines.. You guys should check this out

All great movies.

I just watched Black Swan really great, very well made and I like the grain a lot, it added a lot of charm to the movie.

After watching Black Swan, a friend of mine recommended The Red Shoes, a similar film of ballet and obsession from 1948 by Powell and Pressburger (Scorsese's favourite filmmakers). Its age shows here and there, but for all that, the craft behind the movie is remarkable for that era. In particular, the use of colour is amazing - vibrant reds are especially in evidence. It won a bunch of Oscars, including Best Picture and for writing, editing, music and art direction.

Great.

Their best film, for me, was Black Narcissus, followed by Peeping Tom.

The other are, mostly, also brilliant.

Mulholland Dr. Great great great movie. I then read Lynch's 10 given clues to unlock its mysteries (it didn't help that much though). The more you discover the more you enjoy the movie.

Nader and Simin, A Separation. An excellent drama about how people justify their faults to the point that they also believe that "it wasn't their fault". When everyone and no one is to blame at the same time.

I really liked it

Its enough to be a very good movie, very rare to be more then that. Above all, emotionally I found the movie to hit well home, made their characters well and aimlessly. Yeah Bale acting was massively impressive, sometimes really surreal. And Amy Adams was really good too.

And yeah age part was weird, but Bale made himself look so haggard and beaten that he looked older.
