What? It's by Chris Morris, released by Film 4. Unless a couple of the actors are on percentages instead of a salary, I don't see how any money's going to Muslims.

It's pretty funny anyway, though I'd be curious to see what an open-minded Muslim makes of it. Sally, are you Muslim?
aha yes I am, I absolutely loved the movie it was hilarious and satirical, as for the topic it touched upon, I thought he did a great job - you have the jihadists who believe in a cause worth fighting for, but you also have Omar's brother who sort of counters that (I loved the bit where the Muslim men were just playing soccer), well without wanting to give too much of the scenes in the movies I thought it was well - balanced, touched on things worth mentioning but in the right amount, without trying too hard or being 'in your face' - it all fell nicely into place towards the end.

I could go on and on about the jokes in this movie though, too funny!

I like Del Neri, he really is after the player's ass after a game
I never heard Ranieri or Ciro do that
let's just hope the players pick it up soon
he kinda reminds me of Capello in that way
not an easy going guy
hopefully he will be as succesful as Capello was at Juve

Oh and please don't tell me an open minded muslim is one that drinks alcohol, has pre marital sex etc.
Why not? Doesn't questioning a rule that harms noone and is just an old tradition sound like something an open minded person would do? Or are you saying it's impossible to reconcile muslim with open minded?

For one, its arguable that it harms noone. Secondly, refraining from the big sins which include drinking alcohol, having sex outside wedlock among other things is one of the main points of being a muslim.

But restating that Muslim rules must be followed is just fundamentalism. It's saying that "these are rules we can never change". That's the opposite of open minded.

Now if you were open minded but you still really wanted to be Muslim maybe you'd say "there are rules we should all follow, but perhaps they change over time". The clue is in the word "open"

Btw it's ridiculous that I should try to convince you that drinking alcohol isn't irreparable evil. Quite obviously you've already reached the same conclusion yourself or you wouldn't be doing it.

and you say i never get sarcasm huh? :D

I never drank alcohol in my life mate, nor do i ever intend to :)
Alright then. You seem to be interested in alcohol though, if you're posting in that thread.

Anyhow, I stand by what I said. Being open minded is daring to question stuff that other people tell you is fact. If you take our hero Deneb here, he does that all the time. He then does the opposite when assumptions dear to him get questioned :D

I'm not. It was supposed to be a joke

Its not like alcohol is not readily available here. If i was interested, its just a 15 minute drive away.

I don't doubt alcohol is available anywhere in the world. Or prostitution for that matter. Or drugs. So... no, I'm not impressed by that, sorry. :shifty:
