Infernal Affairs was good but I thought some of the lines in The Departed were quite better. Much more amusing of a film.

And you say I'm all black and white...
I enjoyed Departed, but its not really a great movie. Its just a normal good and well produced movie (it felt pretty forced in parts, and not really all that similar to Infernal Affairs), nothing more nothing less IMO. Not a masterpiece, which what 10/10 would entail.

It was just typical to give it the Oscars (even if the other noms werent anything real special either), it was obviously more for his body of work then this movie, why the do it this way who the heck knows though. They also did it with Denzel, Training day wasnt his best performance, but they gave it to him then more an acknowledgement of his overall ability then that performance alone.

Oh, didn't realise you'd asked me that before.

Just something that I heard some random guy say a few weeks ago. Guess there was some kind of snooker tournament at the time. Thought it was a pretty good observation.
I'm surprised Ja5per hasn't had anything to say about it :D

I was all with you up until the comment about Denzel. If his performance in Training Day doesn't deserve an Oscar, i don't know what does.

Oh no, it deserves an Oscar, its just not his best performance. As in they ignored him for a while, and suddenly give it to him, like he just done his first Oscar worthy performance.

Pretty much what happened with Sean Penn and Mystic River. Lost In Translation was better. Bill Murray was great. Penn was better in 21 Grams. Yet he won an Oscar for the role what as mediocre.
