Stop-Loss - War is horrible, as are it's consequenses. Who would've thunk it? Pretty decent movie, but nothing special.

Also rewatched one of my recent favourites: Juno. The cast in that one is just pitch perfect. "Being pregnant makes me pee like Seabiscuit."

I wouldn't call it epic.
Sure, the action scenes are great & the photography makes you feel like you're in the room with these guys, but I feel that the, so called, metaphores are a bit too obvious. It also could have done with a little more humour imho.

you read too much from your gay porn.

Just got back from my 'Repo Man' screening. Funny film, bit weird, i can see why its a cult film.

Just watched a french true gangster story called public enemy nr one, with Vincent Cassel as the lead. The first part of 2 movies.

Yep, Mesrine, like Cassel (though he is inconsistent) and his style, so rented it randomly. Was nice. A rare supporting role of Depardieau too, one of my old school favs, who is sadly semi-retiring from acting.

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane - Mediocre horror thriller. We've seen it all before, in both better & worse films. As for Mandy Lane: I'd probably love her too ...

Mark Kermode enjoyed it as an good example of 'Hormonal Horror' i was wondering whether you thought it was a better example of this genre, not of the horror genre at large.

I don't know who Kermode is and never really heard of "Hormonal Horror" till now, but I could definitely see where he's coming from.
After all, it is (a slasher movie) about a bunch of teenage guys who want to get with a particular girl from school. Definitely a lot of typical teenage behaviour in this one: truth or dare games, exploring sex, bullying, ...
So yeah, it's a good example of that genre, much more so than it is an example of the horror genre at large.

I do consider myself to be somewhat of a Tarantino fan, yeah.

Reservoir Dogs may not be a great movie, objectively speaking, but I still love it.
Both Pulp Fiction & Jackie Brown were brilliant.
Kill Bill 1 was quite good, vol 2 wasn't all that. Would have been better as 1 (shorter) movie anyway.
Death Proof was mediocre at best, somewhat of a snoozefest.
Four Rooms was quite bad, his bit included.

Edit: Haven't seen Basterds yet.

i love Res and Pulp and Jackie and the rest not so much, death proof was mediocre and boring, i hadnt seen it when i bought and i regret wasting the money. Inglourious was alright, better than KB and death proof but still nowhere near how good he can be.
