Can someone recommend me a good spy movie? Except Bond, Bourne, and MI ones.
Michael Caine's Harry Palmer movies are supposed to be excellent. They're on my too see list. There were five of them:
The Ipcress File (1965)
Funeral in Berlin (1966)
Billion Dollar Brain (1967)
Bullet to Beijing (1995)
Midnight in St. Petersburg (1995)
A little more recent, Ronin was one of Frankenheimer's last movies. Not exactly a spy movie in that there's no government agency involved, but it has the other elements of one. It features a genuinely great car chase, and if it's not the smartest film Frankenheimer ever made, it's certainly one of his finest in terms of action.
EDIT: Can I just say that Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran are two of my absolute favourite comedians.
