Yeah man, he's awesome. He went half retard in Forrest Gump. Unlike that chimp Ben Stiller who went full retard. Everyone knows that no one goes full retard. And Tom Hanks didn't go full retard.

Martyrs - the French horror flick that received rave reviews. This movie was pretty different from what I expected (which, according to the making of, was the aim of the filmmakers).
Not really a horror movie, despite some gruelling scenes, but rather a mystery / revenge thriller.
Overall it's a pretty good, intense movie. But I guess I expected too much, thanks to the massive hype surrounding this one.
In short: definitely worth a wacth, but not for the faint of heart.

the orginial Downloaded was much better
    :D

Watched Burn After Reading last night.
Pretty decent & enjoyable movie. Some funny moments: Most notably the opening scene (which had that typical Coen- brothers feel) & the interplay between Rasche & Simmons.
Still, I expected a bit more from the Coens, especially after their return to form with No Country & the Paris, je t'aîme segment.

I saw BAR in a cinema with a good friend (who is a Coen Bros nut). While we both had a great time, it was perfectly clear that most of the rest of the audience didn't. Maybe not a movie for everyone? I read on review which compared its reception (post No Country) to The Big Lebowski's poor initial reception after the Oscar-winning Fargo. He suggested that BAR will become a cult favourite in the same way. I'm not sure about that, but I know it was one of my favourite films last year.

I don't remember the critical reception to the Big Lebowski, but that was & is one of my favourite movies ever. Definitely my favourite Coens movie (Fargo & Barton Fink come close though).

To be honest, I probably expected way too much from BAR anyway. The trailer lead me to believe it was going to be a new Lebowski, so I was always going to be slightly disappointed I guess.

I think some trailers should be tested in court as false advertising. Take Adventureland - a perfectly good coming of age drama with a good soundtrack and some dark humour. The trailer makes it out to be some sort of hilarious comedy. Sure, it sells, but it's not right.
