had the misfortune of watching Jack Reacher last night - never did I think I would witness a movie as corny and predictable in this day and age. Cruise starring in it should have been a clue but this movie was a new low even for him, imo.

Dude, there are plenty of movies like that.

I know but I usually have a way of sniffing them out of the bunch. I wasn't looking for a movie too complex as I was half asleep anyway but didn't expect it to be such a drivel either.

Cruise is too full of himself lately. Just like Sandler. He puts out shitty movies and people go watch em.

Those kinda movies can be done right tho, look at Judge Dredd. Fucking awesome. Pulled off the corny action genre perfectly.

Yeah that's why I'm snubbing most of the movies in this thread, like Django. :D

That's Sandler's entire career.

I actually enjoyed Django until all that shooting commotion in the plantation started. After that it all went to crap for me. Jack Reacher is on a totally diff level of bad, though.

If you convince me that it's sufficiently bad I'll actually go see it. The very worst movies are worth seeing. :D

I don't like you but I don't hate you either :D

seriously though, the MI series was Oscar level compared to JR. I had the movie figured out with less than 5 min with Cruise on the screen. Just didn't know who the bad guy would be 'cause they had that one pulled out of the their butts, literally, in a scene that basically tells you "enough suspense - here is the bad guy" without any connection to the movie thus far. From there on, I was kept on the edge of my seat wondering whether Cruise's character will manage to kill the bad dudes or not. Imagine my surprise when he somehow pulled it off. :D

what made the bad even worse was Robert Duvall's character setting a new record on the corny-shitometer :sergio:

Oh, it was a MI clone? MI as a concept is cool, the old tv series and all. The Cruise movies were fun but also quite lame. That orderal with the constant face masks :D

no, I just used MI movies as a reference for a bad Cruise movie :D. tbh, I would watch all MI movies in a row over JR any day. :p
