The Kite Runner.

Read the book recently too. The movie is so so, but the main character is strangely very weak. Both the kid actor and the adult one. He comes off looking fairly impassive and uninterested. There is very little torment coming from him, which is the whole point of the story. The only thing he really does well is demonstrate his submission to this father.

How did you find the book? Did you like it?
I'm not sure I should say this on a public forum, but uhm.. it made me cry. More than once. :D Liked it a lot.

Btw change my mind on the movie, it's complete fail. Amir and Sorab are the two critical characters and they're both completely bland. The movie ends on some kind of "dull happy ending" note, the ending is meaningless.

I heard the same thing from many who liked the book but the movie was a let-down for them. I loved the book myself. There are many Afghans living in Iran in the worst possible conditions, doing the lowest of works. To me they have always been synonyms of poverty, homelessness and adversity. The book changed my view.

Marc Forster is a very good filmmaker. I have watched a few of his films and I liked them very much. The fact that Khaled Hosseini worked closely with him on the set of this movie made me think that the film could be very good as well.

Yeah, it's strange. I don't know why they would censor it like that.

I finally watched The Road. I'd read the book. It was a great watch, just like what I'd pictured it to be while reading the book. Sad, gloomy, dark and still full of hopes. I just didn't like the last scene as I don't remember it was included in the book.
Saw it not too long ago, and i didn't like the ending either.

Pretty good movie nonetheless though.
