Anyone seen 'Kickass'?

I thought it was going to be shit, but it was actually alright, not worth all the hype but an entertaining watch. I had one major issue with it. The whole film felt very uneasy to me. The vast majority of hero films are set in alternate realities...Spiderman, Batman, Hulk, Watchmen etc.etc. but Kickass is set in the world that we live in, and it is made very clear throughout that this is the case. So when there is violence then it feels very uneasy as they don't deal with it. It is just written off as 'hey its normal for a 16yr old to fire bazookas'. It just didnt feel right.

What do you guys think/

Green Zone: A really good movie, brings a fresh color to the movies that Hollywood produces. Not making it to the oscars is a great honor.

I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang: Nice movie. It reminded me of Cool Hand Luke and the ending was just as sad.

I fell in for Paul Muni I guess

seen it like 3 times. favourite part:

-he is a philistine
-what's a philistine?
-someone who doesn't like interesting books and films
:agree:

The movie has quite a few nice dialogs indeed. I loved this one:

Bernard Berkman: How do you know they were both Frank's?
Ms. Lemon: Well, I suppose it's possible other kids are masturbating and spreading their semen around the school as well... It's possible, but, uh, somewhat unlikely.
Bernard Berkman: Oh, it happens, I'm sure, much more than we know.
Joan Berkman: Bernard, have you ever done anything like this?
Bernard Berkman: I'm not going to answer that.

Has anyone seen The Cove? I have to introduce it tomorrow night and was wondering if anyone had a certain sentiment or feeling toward to film?

Watching another classic. "Class of 1999", a real Robocop style piece of art. Buck, you must know it :D
Title sounds vaguely familiar, haven't seen it (yet?) though. You know, I don't just watch any random drivel!

Bah, who am I kidding :D

Malcolm X - First time I saw it. Good movie, never boring despite the lengthy runtime.

Carriers - Another one of those recent post apocalyptic thrillers. Nothing special with a somewhat lacking story, but still decent enough.

Dial M For Murder - Nice. The entire movie pretty much takes place in 1 single location, but the dialogue & plot are intelligent enough to keep it interesting until the last minute. Up next in my Hitchcock cycle is probably The Wrong Man.

Franklyn - Pretty bad. A pretty clear example of style over substance (plot is nonsense), too bad that the style itself isn't any good either most of the times. Thankfully Eva Green was a lead in this movie, which made it bearable since she isn't too hard on the eyes. Quite the contrary.

I also finally got around to watching The Hangover. Funny, but not even close to being as good as I had hoped & expected.
